In regard to my original question about MBAE:
My concern is that now MBAE free only comes in beta version.
The good thing is that for the time being MBAE free only autoupdate to stable beta versions. Yes you are reading it right, all new beta build available do not automatically update, only bulids reputed bugs free are.
I hope when MBAE 10 comes out, if it does, they follow the same updating criteria
As an average user I do not cope well with using apps that require some higher degree of knowledge to operate, which I believe is necessary when running beta APPS.

Hence my interest to investigate and use VoodooShield, (that by the way I found quite a formidable defense just with only its default settings on ) in case I became uneasy with the concept of depending on a "perpetual beta MBAE" for my protection.

For whatever reason, I've lost site of VoodooShield until recent loss of usb device with all backups, thus obliging me to start from scratch without MalwareBytes I had acquired non-renewable lifetime license at the time (sad).

But after looking and installing VoodooShield 4.72 (free option) and VTZilla (VirusTotal extension) for Firefox, I think I've found a pretty solid backup plan against malware.

Have sent email to VoodooShield dev and posted similar to WildersSecurity forum.
Just thought i'd share to hear from friends here.

VoodooShield 4.72 (free option) uses very little resource on my laptop!
Practically nothing compared to Malwarebytes that's for sure!

Still using VoodooShield (no more MalwareBytes) but V.S. now has an annoying reminder at computer startup to go for their shareware version. Not a huge issue, just a small annoyance to click off.

Update: looks like that reminder was only a 3 day stint.

Suppose they have VS configured to do that reminder every so often.

A former user of both software's, ever since I started using OSArmor in combination with SysHardener, everything is going strong. NoVirusThanks has an incredible list of free softwares to securely lockdown your Windows OS>

In addition, from one of Dan's posts:
