Have been following and using Vivaldi desktop version since the beginning and after a long wait, the Android version finally made the day!
https://vivaldi.com/android/ Still a beta, but a perfect partner for the desktop version that will surely go a long way. |

This is Android app - just released.
Were you among insiders to try out what only the founder had? - - - - - It's still a beta so although it is quite stable, it lacks a few good features (at least imo) such as dark mode and open on startpage. Quirks in syncing bookmarks are present but overall, pretty decent for a start. |

I don't have it installed, but since it is a chrome fork, the chrome://flags should have a dark mode setting built into it
before, I meant I tried the desktop version, not the android one. But it mentioned the sync between the two, which other browsers do as well. So is there any benefit to switching? I didn't see anything that was interesting enough to make the switch for me. |

In the flags, enable 'Chrome UI dark mode' and 'Web Content dark mode' then relaunch the browser.
It's the first release so difficult to judge at this point but the built in ad blocker isn't effective enough (my opinion) and you can't install extensions like you can with certain other Android browsers. The built in ad blockers in Brave and MS Edge do a better job, for me at least, so at the moment Vivaldi is no use to me on a phone. Have to agree with eyeb, there is no benefit to switching from Brave. If I'm using a browser on a device with wifi, or mobile data especially, I don't want ads loading. |

Vivaldi has hit 500k mark for desktop and 150k for Android app.!
And they are having a giveaway: https://vivaldi.com/blog/high-five/ Cheers to the underdog! p.s. dark theme is now in options. |

If it supports Chrome extensions like Kiwi Browser then I will give it a try. This I have found lacking in most of the browsers on Android.
