Default AbiWord Portable not found at the developers website

AbiWord Portable Edition is available for download at many download sites but I am unable to find it in the developers page. Whenever possible I always try to get software direct from the developer. Does anyone know of a link for this at their web site? The review here at Gizmo's has no link to the portable edition.

According to the Sourceforge site, AbiWord Portable is now part of the PortableApps.com project.

'Google' keeps turning up everywhere like a bad penny Among the many plugins in AbiWord Portable files, there is one called 'PluginGoogle.dll'. What could it's purpose be?

Yes, Google does seem to have its finger in many pies. In this case, just dig around the program's settings and interface and see if you find anything that hints at or mentions Google. If you don't find anything suspicious, don't let it bother you.

Likely it functions as searching Google for your selected text according to AbiWord's plugin matrix https://www.abisource.com/wiki/PluginMatrix

Thank you. I found "Google search" in the "Tools" menu. When clicked, it opened my Firefox Browser with this URL.

Thank you for this link. It is very helpful. Since I don't use Google Search I can delete this and some others as well, that are of no use to me.

Regards,

Delete the file but don't empty the Recycle Bin - just in case.

You don't have to go so far. Just do not use the Google Search in the Tools menu.
