WPS Office 2016

The latest version seems interesting. From the release notes here: https://www.wps.com/update-log

WPS Office has updated to version 10.1.0.5584 on 05-May-2016 and has unlocked the following restrictions:

- Save as Microsoft Office 2007-2010 File Format (docx, pptx, xlsx etc.)
- REMOVED Watermark. Sponsored Access on Printing and Print to PDF.
- Sponsored Access on: Track Changes, Mail Merge, Form Field Locking, Export to Compressed File/Folder and Share Workbooks.

It's a good thing that it now offers save in 2007-2010 file formats and also removing watermarks for printing.

Also about sponsored access, can someone who's using it tell me how it works. I won't be downloading this at-least till the end of next week, because am travelling.

a) Does it show an ad inside the program or through the web browser while printing? b) Does this happen for every print job, or only once during a system restart?
c) Most importantly is it possible to use a firewall to restrict WPS Office to connect to the internet (hence blocking ads) and still use the features like printing, share workbooks and track changes?

Just installed it on ChaletOS and it is just working fine and dandy!
No watermarks!

I too installed WPS Office in Chalet OS and got an immediate error regarding fonts/symbols.

The "Solution" link opens a page in Chinese. Using Google Translate, the link on that page refers to a non existent destination.

How this might impact on my use of the program I'm not yet sure, but I have turned off the error message.

I figured this too but then either the message should not appear for English language installs or it should contain better information such as installing the Chinese language pack via language support.

Like Sandboxie, WPS Office by default installs the Premium version for 30days and then switches to the Free version.

So we might have to wait for 30 days to see how it goes.

I believe the premium versions only apply to Windows, not Linux.
