SSE - Universal Encryption App
A multipurpose encryption app with key features available across multiple platforms.
Pros & Cons:
Our Review:
SSE - Universal Encryption App, or in short "SSE" standing for Secret Space Encryptor, gives you several security tools in one app, which includes File and Directory Encryptor, Text Encryptor, Password Vault, Password Generator and Clipboard Cleaner.
This app uses strong encryption algorithms, such as AES (256-bit), RC6 (256-bit), Serpent (256-bit), Twofish (256-bit), GOST (256-bit) and Blowfish (448-bit).
Encrypted files and folders come with an .enc extension, with options available for wiping source files after encryption and deleting .enc files after decryption.
One good point for using this app to encrypt files and folders is that they are not restricted to Android users but natively supported with its companion application SSE File Encryptor for PC running in Windows, Mac OS X or Linux.
The Text Encryptor in this app contains a steganographic feature, allowing for hiding of a secret message within an ordinary text message and the extraction of it at its destination with a correct password. It is also fully compatible with Paranoia Text Encryption for PC and Paranoia Text Encryption for the Web using client-side JavaScript for AES (256-bit) encryption.
Besides the useful encryption tools, both Password Generator and Clipboard Cleaner are handy utilities put in place convenient for use whenever you need them. The Password Vault is also a bonus but it is rather simplistic when compared to fully-featured password managers like Keepass2Android.
