Don't use many extensions but the ones I do use all work fine with SlimJet so I'll stick with it. I like the speed dial page as well.
But, George.J got me curious about Cent Browser so I downloaded the 64 bit Portable version and once again I'm pleasantly surprised. Crikey, the settings offer a lot of ways to customise the browser. It's very quick, I thought it was Russian at first but it's Chinese, and what they've done with settings and features is very good. Translator's the same and works great although it doesn't seem to translate highlighted text, but I'm not too fussed about that. Nice browser. Edit; I didn't have a problem logging into here or posting with Cent Browser, danielson. |

Centbrowser does pretty good!
With a Slimjet Linux version to satisfy the unhappy Windows users. Perfect pair? Btw, changed p.w. for this forum, have logged out with Slimjet but always same routine in Centbrowser: try to log in, says wrong user or p.w. then it is accepted (says logged in) but the minute i click on the forum link, have to start over (without success). Have tried at least 5 times, even with new p.w. So, to some it's a broken Slimjet extension, to others, an impossible issue to log into this forum with Centbrowser. |

Of the two browsers, I still prefer SlimJet. Just seems a bit more polished, to me. It has a much better help page than Cent, which I think is important when you're new to a browser.
I'm not too bothered about memory use etc, but both these browsers do run lighter than Opera, and Yandex. And it's nice to be able to quickly add search engines to your list or delete the ones you don't want, plus set the added ones as default search. Opera still doesn't do this. |

Hear ye on all your recent points deya!
![]() Btw, don't want to prolong this impossible login issue i had with Centbrowser, but just now, after a.m. system reboot, i was going to screencast it and login worked! It worked well yesterday with Chrome too. Weird. One thing i noticed about Centbrowser this a.m., if i wanted to access Screencast extension, i had to slide back all the hidden extensions to find it. There are no dropdown menus after you slide them back to the right. |

I never have enough extensions installed to have any hidden, but I like the option in SlimJet to hide extension toolbar icons in the SlimJet menu. I use Magic Actions for YouTube and the icon for that doesn't show in the toolbar in Opera etc. It only shows when uTube video pages load, and in the address bar, but with SlimJet the icon shows in the toolbar once installed. I've no desire to see it so it's nice to be able to hide it in the menu, then once a video page loads and the icon becomes live you can click it and it moves to the toolbar for easy access- click it again, and it goes back to hidden in the menu. Little things please little minds
Also, I've noticed an improvement when uploading my cycling data to Garmin Connect. With Opera the components for viewing various data are sluggish to load and things can be a bit slow. But using it with SlimJet everything loads and works very quickly. Dunno, maybe it could be sometimes caused by slow servers at Garmin, fair enough, but since using SlimJet I've not experienced any lagging at all. It's definitely snappier. I've also had quick access icons appear in the toolbar when looking at Amazon and eBay, they just appeared when I visited the sites. I noticed a thread about it on their forum so it's a known issue. They only did it once and were easily removed via the Customise toolbar window so no big deal, I don't use those sites much anyway but it hasn't happened since. |
