According to The OneDrive Blog, Microsoft will decrease free OneDrive storage from 15GB to 5GB for all users and the 15GB camera roll storage bonus will also be discontinued in early 2016.
If you want to keep the above 15GB + 15GB free storage even after the changes roll out, click "Keep your free storage" at this link https://preview.onedrive.com/bonus/ to activate such free storage before end of January 2016. Ref: https://onedrive.uservoice.com/forum...ck-our-storage |

Thanks for highlighting this.
I don't use anywhere near my full storage at the moment but I wouldn't want to lose the option to make use of it. I have the camera roll too. In fact, I've also got an additional 10GB free from somewhere as my total storage is 40GB! |

Good that they decided to rethink this and give users the opportunity to keep their original free storage space. I can't ever see me using my full amount either, 30 gigs is way more than enough for me, but it's something I do use a lot so it's nice to be able to keep the option.
Maybe they were a little bit too generous in offering unlimited storage in the first place, some people obviously took them on their word and pushed it to the max - fair enough, but then it seemed to be that the majority were being punished for the actions of the minority. At least they listened and had a change of heart. Can't fault them for that to be honest. |

Another bit of news guys. Yesterday, there was something under the opt-in button saying that by opting in you agree to receive promotional material. Today it's gone. You can see the missing bit I am talking about in the screenshot in Ghacks' article. I suppose that could mean either of three things...
[Edit] Okay. I did the opt-in thingy and there's still no sign of anything to do with promotional material. Just this... ![]() Last edited by Joe A.TT; 13. Dec 2015 at 01:27 PM. |

That was there on Friday night when I used the opt-in, Joe. I didn't un-check the box so I'll see what happens. I saw the wording "You can unsubscribe at any time" ... so decided to leave it for now, but use that option if they start pestering me too much with promotional stuff.
Not had anything sent so far though, and just checked to make sure my opt-in had been registered, which it has. So I'll wait and see. |

I'm confused about this as I have 2 hotmaol accounts: one with 25 GB storage and the other a whopping 125 GB! The latter account states that its available until 21/02/2016. Both are free OneDrive accounts.
Do I still need to allow the OneDrive app permission to access my contact list etc as per Jojo Yee's link?
