Softmaker Office is running a charity campaign for Christmas, and is offering Softmaker Office for free until Christmas. For every download, they will give a certain amount to a charity.
It's called the Load and Help campaign. Details here : http://www.loadandhelp.com/home-en.html Softmaker Office is a great lightweight suite, and they often offer their suite for free via such offers. So, it's a good opportunity to download this. Softmaker Office for both Windows and Linux is on the offer... free for both personal and business use. It's not clear what version of Softmaker Office is for download though. It might be the Free Office 12, for which they had run similar offer before. Anyways, I will download a copy to help, and also compare if it's the same suite.

This is a good choice for a free office package for someone who wants less bloat and more MS Office compatibility than Libra/OpenOffice.
This is the free version of their software, FreeOffice. And, it's always free. And, it will be free after Christmas. The promotion is that the company will donate a small amount of money for every download of their free product, until Christmas. |

The campaign is again running this year. The link is same as before, and the purpose too... to make available Softmaker OfficeFree for download for Windows and Linux free. A certain amount of money will go to charity for every download.
I think it's the same Free Office 12, which is available for download again, but, according to the FAQ here: http://www.loadandhelp.com/faq-en.html it's an updated version, that has some additional features. Apart from the free office for Windows and Linux, free fonts are also available for download till December 24. So, that's another attraction in this offer. It's a good opportunity to download a good free lightweight office suite, and also to help in the process. I will certainly be downloading again. The download page is here: http://www.freeoffice.com/en/download The campaign page is here: http://www.loadandhelp.com/home-en.html

The Load and Help Campaign from SoftMaker is back again this year.
Free Office 12 is being offered for download again, for both Windows and Linux. This year, the added attraction is SoftMaker Office for Android, which is a new product, and has been developed recently. This product is also available for free via this campaign. So, that's a really good offer. The campaign page is here: http://www.loadandhelp.de/home-en.html Information and download is here: http://www.freeoffice.com/en/ Here is the features page for SoftMaker Office for Windows and Linux: http://www.freeoffice.com/en/feature...fice-textmaker However, this free office does not have the ability to save in current MS Office format of docx, etc, which will be a disappointment, and so people will most probably go for the Kingsoft Office suite. Comparison page of free and commercial version is here: http://www.freeoffice.com/en/features-comparison Features page for SoftMaker Office for Android is here: http://www.freeoffice.com/en/office-mobile-textmaker I will be downloading it this year too. Will download both Windows and Android version. Will keep them for future use. Most probably will keep using Kingsoft Office on both Windows and Android though.

Just read, SoftMaker Office can be installed as a portable tool in a flash drive. The procedure is here:

Interesting approach. I noticed though that when I follow the link from Loadandhelp to Betterplace.org, the site doesn't seem to reflect the campaign being repeated this year.

The charity campaign is back once again this year.
The campaign page is here: http://www.loadandhelp.com/en/ Information and download is here: http://www.freeoffice.com/en/ They haven't said which version is being offered for free, but looks like it might be the version offered last year? SoftMaker Office for Windows and Linux, as well as for smartphones and tablets are being offered for free too.
