Hi.
Since the last windows update Sandboxie has stopped me from downloading software through the sandbox, everything works fine if I'm not using sandboxie. So I went to the site to download the latest version and got this message. "Due to requirements of the U.S. government, export compliance is now mandatory when downloading our software. Complete the form to proceed with your download." I assume this is just a straight out lie as no other software seems subject to these regulations. The problem is that even when I fill in their "loan application" the "state" location field keeps resetting to 0 and it tells me that the state is required and it wont let me download the file. So is there any solution or alternative program that I could use? Thanks. |

Yes, your link was the same as I used. When I click it I get this message that I have to accept.

After accepting I have to fill in a form with these details. But it wont accept the state/province, it just resets to 0 and I can't get the download. First Name * Last Name * Email Address * Job role * Company * Industry * Country * State/Province * Zip code/Postcode * |

Thanks, you were right, the problem was NoScript, I turned it off and the download worked.
I don't see why people need to fill in the form at all really, most of those questions are none of their business. Is Sandboxie still considered a good program or are there better alternatives available? |

Good to hear you got it. NoScript would make sense.
I agree with you on the form, but it may have to do with Export Administration Regulations (EAR) of the US I thought the same as you on the "export compliance" in your first post about this, but it appears EAR does have an effect and I am surprised such statements are not seen more. I am not a big believer in security software, so I can not give advice on alternatives. |

I still like/use sandboxie, the government compliance thing is odd because I haven't come across this on any other software, but I don't use many either
Not sure there is anything that mimics sandboxie like it does. There are other sandboxing software, but they are usually for entire system, and not individual programs. you could use "portablizing" programs to make a software "sandboxed" but those tend to have their own set of problems, and it doesn't self delete either so not a good sandboxie replacement |

Way late 2020 comment but I can still download v5.33.3 Sandboxie from Sophos 'cause I just did again after I got this:
Ive.been using Sandboxie 5.33.3 for some time on windows 10 and all has been ok until recently. With a recent Firefox update to v83 Sandboxie doesn't run with this error: "The procedure entry point ?CreateAndStoreEarlyBlankWindow@mozilla@@YAXPEAUHI NSTANCE_@@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe. So maybe the real question is, where do I get the latest stable version of Sandboxie that works with the latest Firefox v80+? Thanks and happy Thanksgiving |

On the Wilder's Forum, there are two ongoing, long threads, about Sandboxie. One is an open-source Sandboxie thread. The other is a newer thread and it's called Sandboxie Plus. It is a Sandboxie fork. Both threads are quite active.
Original thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thre...source.428156/ Sandboxie Plus: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thre...e-fork.427755/ Our own Bo is active on both threads.

With the greatest respect to Bo for what he is trying to achieve I don't think we can claim ownership of his status as in "our" any more since he's not been active on this site for more than three years.
