Hey, just a heads up, the link for "Free Registry Defrag" on https://www.techsupportalert.com/long-list-nid.htm/1740 is now an "adult" website.

Many thanks for letting us know. We've removed this link until a suitable alternative can be found and added to the list.

An alternative product has now been added to this section.
Please exercise caution and image your system first before using any type of registry tool!

There really should not be any need to defragment the registry file.
However if you do insist on doing so, as said, make a full backup before you do so, and restart your system immediately after doing so. This makes sure that your "optimised" registry is immediately fully used so that you can restore back before any other changes are made that would be lost if the restore is left till later. I have an automatic back-up of the registry set up so that it always takes a backup on the first restart after the date changes. This mens that should any malware corrupt my registry file, I can always restore it to "start of day" state. Last edited by Burn-IT; 17. Sep 2019 at 04:41 PM. |
