In the past I've told you about some great free PC software that allows you to pull together some digital photos and a music track to create a video slideshow. But for a change, here's a brand new web-based system that can do the same thing, without the need to install any software on your computer.
One downside, though, is that you really need a Facebook or Twitter account to make use of the system. So if you don't have one, and don't want one, this isn't for you. Sorry.
The system in question is called Slidely and you'll find it at http://slide.ly on the web. You can sign in with your existing Facebook account, or you can create a unique Slidely username and password. Then, the first step in creating a new video is to upload some photos. You can choose up to 90, and they can come from your hard disk, from your Facebook account, from Flickr, or Instagram.
Next, choose your music. Upload one of your MP3 files, or pick a track from Youtube. You'll also need to pick from a selection of video effects too.
And that's all there is to it. When you've previewed your finished video slideshow, you can publish it to Facebook or Twitter, or embed it on your web site. The only thing you can't do, sadly, is download the video to your own computer.

Hope this is the place to post my problem. We are trying to prepare for my Mom's funeral. The entire funeral service, including speakers and vocals, etc., will be recorded by the funeral home (AUDIO only), and a CD will be presented to us.
What we want to do is using that CD (as background), add any number of photos that the audio is presenting and ending up with a slideshow with audio and then burning the resulting endeavor to a DVD to then mail to out of town family members. Is this possible using a free slideshow program? Which program will do what we want to do?
