Peek
A tiny utility allows you to view any text information contained in a binary file.
Pros & Cons:
Our Review:
Peek is a tiny utility that allows you to view and extract any text information contained in .exe .dll or other binary files by creating a right-click context menu item.
Usage couldn't be simpler: Just right-click a binary file and select "Peek". The program can handle Unicode strings and can provide text string offsets. A little gem.
It weighs in at only 11.2 KB. After download, unzip the setup file to a temporary folder, right click on PEEK.INF file then choose the "Install" command and the system will install PEEK on your computer.
To uninstall PEEK go to the control panel and use the 'Add/Remove Programs' applet to remove PEEK from your computer.
Unfortunately this small tool is not being developed at present. Officially it supports Windows 95 and NT4, and may work on other versions of Windows.
