Without thinking while I was working, the pop-up about the newest Firefox ESR release came up and instead of downloading it through my normal process, I just clicked on upgrade.
Now I can't get FF to run sandboxed, it is restricting me from running the .exe file and I have no idea how to recover. It is message SBIE1308, cancelling FF due to restrictions. Can someone please walk me through this disaster? I don't know how to undo it, because I still don't understand the warnings after all these years. BTW, I did go through my normal upgrade process after this headache, the new version is installed. I can run FF un-sandboxed, no problem. Thanks, in advance...

AFAIK you will need to allow whatever .exe file that Sandboxie is preventing from running eg firefox.exe, under Start/Run restrictions. NB Sanboxie will state exactly which file is being prevented from running in the dialogue box that appears when you attempt to launch FF sandboxed.

Torres, thank you.
I did know which file, but it since it stopped the original update, it restricted Firefox because of that upgrade process. I believe I fixed it a minute ago - I deleted the contents of the sandbox, which lingered after it stopped the update, apparently included the update itself. Fired up right away. Let's see if it was fixed during the course of the day Keep you posted...
