Windows Update Blocker;
https://www.sordum.org/9470/windows-...-blocker-v1-1/ Win Update Stop; https://www.novirusthanks.org/products/win-update-stop/ I've never used either so you'll have to have a read up about them. O&O ShutUp10; https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 This one I do use, although not for what you're wanting to do but the option is there. It's listed as 'Activate deferring of upgrades' with the description "Upgrades (not security updates) can be pushed back for some months to install them at a date of your choosing" There probably will be others. As I said, I've not needed to use anything for the issue you're experiencing but I do use O&O and it does do what it says it will do but again, read up on it first. |

If it works for you that's fine. But just be sure you fully understand the program and the potential consequences of using it - which I'm sure you do. I can understand your frustration if an update is causing you problems and disabling what you have disabled may help the situation, but it's not a fix and disabling stuff like that isn't always a good idea.
The service you've disabled isn't one of the recommended settings in O&O, but nevertheless the option is there, so fine, but the symbol for that particular setting suggests to use it with caution

i thought you could disable the auto update by changing the wifi setting to metered mode
without using any other programs to do it, and it still lets you manually update when you choose to update windows defender from inside the program using it's update tab so it only gets updates for itself |
