You released new version XDM 4.7

I tested it under Shadow Defender & the login prob I was facing is solved now.

Previous version I tested under Toolwiz Time Freeze.
Dont know if you fixed something in version 4.7 or login prob was due to Toolwiz Time Freeze.

No login prob with XDM 4.7 under Shadow Defender.

But Internet Explorer prob remains i.e search through address bar is not possible as every input in address bar is automatically changing to .com & the result is blank page.

In version 4.7, the grabber window, when small icons is selected, you can see the type i.e mp4, webm, etc.. but when large icons is selected, you cannot make out the type by looking at the video.
I think would be good if those blue icons have type written on them i.e mp4, webm, etc...

If Internet Explorer prob I meantioned above is solved then I would try XDM on production system.

Is it possible that Internet Explorer prob may be due to XDM running under light virtualization i.e Shadow Defender?

How to download video from the site below?

Grabber grabs the video but shows many small size files for single video.
Clip Converter online video downloading site shows 1 file for the video.

UPDATE
I found the solution for Internet Explorer search prob.
My internet connection is PPPOE. I have a ISP dialer on the system. To connect to the internet I have to use the username & password in the dialer & connect.
Internet Explorer - Internet Options - Connections - If I highlight my ISP Dialer, then settings & check "Automatically detect settings", this solves the Internet Explorer prob.
Now if I uncheck "Automatically detect settings" again then too Internet Explorer works fine.
Exiting XDM brings the prob back.
So I wonder if system restart too would bring the prob back?

I cannot check with system restart as I am testing under light virtualization & after system restart everything is removed by the virtualization.

Please confirm if this is the scenario:
before starting XDM "Automatically detect settings" was checked and IE was working fine.
Start XDM. IE working fine.
On Exiting XDM, "Automatically detect settings" is getting unchecked and IE search problem is is comming back.

Will check the link for "http://www.add-anime.net/".

BTW can other download managers IDM, FDM ie. able to capture full video from "http://www.add-anime.net/"?

Tested the version 4.5.2 build 474
Win 7 64
Tested under Toolwiz Time Freeze

Pros
Clean software, Good GUI
Tried couple files & video downloads, the speed was good.

Cons
For some videos it gave server response or some error i.e pxxxxd correctly but when clicked download it gave error. Other download managers downloaded those videos fine.

The proxy thing is problematic enabled/disabled i.e the same probs even if disabled in the GUI. Proxy disabled in the GUI & XDM exited from the tray solves all the below probs. So definitely below probs due to proxy & XDM.

Couldn't login in any sites with any browsers i.e IE 11 & Google Chrome latest. The result is blank page with the word "ERROR" i.e sites opened but login in any sites gave error.

All downloaded videos are given the same name i.e videoplayback, videoplayback1, videoplayback2, etc... It would be good if the original name of the video is given.

Files are renamed as copy of i.e soft - copy of soft. would be good if renamed as soft - soft1.

In this version, check for updates mentions new download available & takes to xtreme download manager website that has old 4.3 version.

Suggests
Why proxy?
Would be good if proxy is removed.

Why start with windows is required?
Would be good if its not required.

Rightclick download with XDM option would be good for those downloads that XDM couldn't pick up.

Remove the completed downloads from the list option would be good.

Files/Videos downloads that are cancelled/stopped for some reasons & then when you try to download again, a new file is created in the downloads folder. The number of times you try to download the cancelled downloads, the number of files are created i.e if you try to download a file & for some reason the file couldn't be downloaded & you try 5 times then 5 files are created in the downloads folder.
I think incomplete/stopped downloads should be hidden (this will avoid the mess in download folder) & when tried to download again, XDM should ask to resume/restart. For this an option "check if the download with the same url exists" would be needed.

I think if a window is resized, it should remain resized.

Video downloads window i.e infos about the downloads after parsing the videos could be in a more better/clear way i.e the window with all the infos 720p, 480p mp4, url, etc... Would be good if file size of the videos is also shown. By default this window could be the same as the default size of the GUI.

Download window should show location of the files saved & file size.

Does it auto check for updates? If yes, there should be an option to disable autoupdate. Plus there could be an option to "only notify".

In download progress window when you click pause the window disappears, the window should remain open. And would be good if there is a stop tab in the download progress window to stop the download & when hit stop the window should disappear.

Why the program installs in appdata & not programfiles?

Does the downloads starts while the download info window is shown or the download starts after hitting download now? I like the later as sometimes I take time to decide to download or not while the window is there.

The exit tab on the GUI is confusing. I thought it would just close the GUI but exited it. I think would be good if exit just close the GUI.

Is the resolutions shown by video downloads correct?
1280*720 is 720p
But 480*360?
320*240?
Etc...

Download a file & delete it & try downloading the file again, XDM mention file already exists in the downloads lists & gives the option to rename. Is this a bug or design? Why its checking downloads lists? The downloaded file was already deleted but guess due to XDM checking downloads lists mention file already exists & gives option to rename.
I think if the file to be downloaded is not there in the download folder then XDM should download the file, this is the right way, right?

I have a few questions about the bugs/suggestions you mentioned.

1.

Can u please post the URL and the name of the download managers can download the video.

Please post the URL or equivalent public URL of those sites if possible. Because I have thoroughly tested XDM with many servers with HTTP-AUTHENTICATION,PROXY-AUTHENTICATION (BASIC,NEGOTIATE,NTLM,DIGEST methods including Windows ISA server) but Never encountered such problems.

Yes. I will solve those issues.

Could u elaborate "download folder". Are u referring to the actual download folder in file system or XDM's download list.
If a download is not complete is will not be stored in download folder.
New files will only be created in the download list only if download is RESTARTED, NOT RESUMED.

There is Download Category that can be used to view ONLY COMPLETE/INCOMPLETE downloads.

If duplicate URL is added, duplicate link dialog appears in XDM 4.5.2

These info's are shown for YOUTUBE videos in XDM 4.5.2.
For videos from other sites commonly only file size/type is available.
I think all other download managers also don't show resolutions for those videos.

XDM's main download list shows the above mentioned information's.
Though they could be added to the download window as well. Will think about it.

No it does not. But Update feature will be enhanced in future.

XDM can be installed without Administrator Rights.
This feature enables XDM to be used by the corporate Users who usually dont have Admin Rights.
Google Chrome also has this feature if u install chrome without admin rights.

No. it starts only when Download Progress Window is shown.

May be u r right. I will check the behavior of other download managers and
implement accordingly to maintain Familiarity and user friendliness.

XDM GUI is simple & nice. Works good. Further improvements & polishing will definitely make it a tough contender for FDM, IDM, free/paid, etc...

But I find not many people know XDM.
If many people know it & try it, the amount of feedback you will get will help a lot in enhancing XDM.

I would suggest you to start a thread in Malwaretips & Wilders about XDM with infos & screenshots & introduce yourself.

Actually sometime back I had posted about XDM in both the sites but no response was there as guess no one knew XDM.
But if you, developer will post, I am sure everybody would like to test XDM & give feedback.

1. Just try Kick movie official (T Series) songs from Youtube. Internet Download Manager, Internet Download Accelerator & Download Ninja can download these songs.

2. No need of urls. As I mentioned I can open any site but cannot login in any site. And IE search through address bar is not possible as any input is converted into .com.

4. Download folder means default download folder for XDM. For info, I change the default download folder location to desktop i.e I have a folder named Download on the desktop & set this folder as default download folder in XDM.

5. I meant video download infos looks little cluttered & make it little clear. Like instead of 1280*720, you can mention 720p & instead of mp4.............(the long link), you can mention just mp4, etc...
Why mp3, mp4 audio is not there in the video downloads?

Is XDM beta or stable?

Download progress window shows connection info. Would be good if show/hide info tab is there.

When download through XDM is cancelled, allow the browser to show download i.e when you dont want to download with XDM & hit cancel on XDM download window then browser should show the download. This option in the GUI would be good.

Reviewer is right. This is not the place for lengthy discussions.
Open your thread in any forums as that would be good to get good amount of feedback for XDM in my opinion.
I suggested wilders & malwaretips as I find these forums good & I am registered there.

By the way hope you noticed I had mentioned in my previous post that I tested XDM under Toolwiz Time Freeze. Its light virtualization. I dont test on production system directly & dont install virtual machines. I like Time Freeze as it simple & any product I have tested worked correctly.
So I guess XDM too works under Time Freeze & all those probs were not due to XDM running under Time Freeze, what you say?
