Chrome, for improving my browsing speed. Reading Gizmo's freeware forums is much faster now. Better still, now it works either on Linux and Windows. I also like MSE, but that's when I'm working on Windows.

So comparing the two, you know which one I voted for.

Tough to choose one freeware from the list... many good softwares there.

I voted for PC Tools Firewall. I have been using it for sometime, and in the present year, it has improved tremendously. It has given a choice to firewall users, which is good for average users as well. Just recently, it had a perfect score at Matousec Firewall Tests, along with Comodo Firewall.

Comodo is another solid product but its considered good for experienced users. PC Tools has proved excellent, but average users can also use it without problems. So, based on these aspects, I gave my vote for the present year to PC Tools Firewall.

MSE, Comodo Firewall, PicPick, Avast, Firefox were my other choices.

Lol. You know I was thinking the same thing about the 2010 date. Anyway, currently am running Avira and PC Tools firewall so it's between the two as my favorites for 2009. Avira for fixing the update situation and pc tools for finally getting the bugs out whereby it's running real well here. Honorable mention to avast 4.8 and comodo firewall only. Have used them also in 2009. Anyway... after considerable consideration I am voting for PC Tools firewall plus
