Default Partition alignment tool

I always partition my computers, and sometimes other drives its simple to do but i never used a Partition alignment tool.

I always use partition tools from a booted CD and none of the CD's had Partition alignment tool and it wasn't until recently i found out about them. Are they worth having? I tend to make my partition software portable because i don't often partition my drives once there done i leave them, so i would do the same for the Partition alignment tool im just wondering

Is it worth it? or just something unnecessary?
If it ain't broke don't fix it, improve it, break it then fix it

It might be worthwhile if you have a SSD. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth the risk.
