by mr6n8 on 21. February 2010 - 11:34  (#44121)

Project Gutenberg Australia has a good number of short stories for reading online (choose TEXT).

BlackMask has old magazine short stories available for download in pdf.

Some of the others will have short stories mixed in with the novels.

I did not go looking for short stories when making this list as it is for free books online.

Thank you for your inclusion of Online Novels, http://online-novels.blogspot.com/. I'd just like to mention that as of Feb. 26 the Stiltjack link you list is no longer active. According to the webmaster, Martin Cooper, he will not be putting it back up.

Hi Keroffs,

With reference to this:
Project Gutenberg Australia has a large collection of novels by Australian authors, some available for online viewing and some for download.

I'm not sure that PGA is limited to Australian authors.

I think the difference between the "regular" and the Australian Gutenbergs is the legal definition employed with respect to copyright.

The Blackmask Fiction link does not work. That site hasn't been there for a long time, but it used to be a real good one. Thanks for the great website you've got here.

by mr6n8 on 11. July 2011 - 19:29  (#75241)

When I was young (a long time ago) Poe was by far and away my favorite author.

I have gotten lighter in my tastes over the years-but he is still a great one.

Glad you enjoy the list.

Thanks you did a great job,and such a vast range of literature some of the best classic of all time. As for myself when i feel a wee bit under the weather there nothing like a steaming cup of brewed tea with a wedge from a fresh lemon and a good novel by Edgar Allan Poe,to lift my spirit, and fill my heart with joy and inspiration. Thank you!
