I should probably clarify, there is no classical music at the site as far as I can tell. JamBase has a different audience. Mostly live concerts from more contemporary artists and along the lines of blues, country, pop, etc.

If you know any good videos of live performances of artists you like that fit the site, by all means suggest them using the Add a Video button. They add to the collection regularly. Both of those you mention would be a good match for the site from what I've seen.

Get Facebook’s Old Layout Back with These Browser Add-ons 7 months 3 weeks ago rhiannon

I'm not sure what to make of this. It's been working fine, though today I got a pop up that said click to trigger Facebook's mechanism to revert to the old layout, and that the option would be offered again in 48 hours. I've checked with people on FB who use the add-on and haven't had any trouble as yet.

Yes, there will be times when the add-on won't work. FB is very active about forcing people to see what they want and work to prevent things like this from working. You may not want to use it and avoid any interruptions.

As regards the developers commitment, he's been developing this since 2009.

I wish I could have donated ten times as much - and made it an automatic monthly donation, also. I value this site As Much as I value archive.org !

{I confess: I have been spending more time at archive.org lately than I have been spending here (where's that embarrassed emoji ☺️ ?) - but while that place feels like a vast library of [millions of] wonders ... it is THIS site that feels like a Cozy HOME to me. And though prodigal I may be ... it is to here that my heart (and eventually, my sorry azz) always returns - and I always feel as welcomed again, as the proverbial prodigal one, when I do return.}

Please keep up the good work, everyone!!!!

PS I recommend Ad Nauseum extension - it clicks on every ad on every page (in the background) so that the click counts - causing an "Impression" that means the Ad gets paid to the Site. This also 'Munges the HECK' out of your 'ad trail' ... and adds EVERY Subject - to your "liked Ads" profile ... ruining by 'flooding' ... their carefully built profile of 'your liked ads' - what advertising you have clicked upon.

https://adnauseam.io/

Open Source - and if your site has ads on any page: AdNauseam WILL Click on them for you. The "Anti" Ad Blocker ... it eats EVERY One for breakfast (I swear one site had rotating ads ... and it eventually clicked on several hundred for THEM).

I use Jitsi weekly, and I love it. I recommend it.

One correction: it's most decidedly NOT secure. When you create a room, all you do is create a URL. The same URL works over and over, as the room isn't created until someone visits that URL. Anyone with that URL will automatically join your room. The only way to be "secure" is in the sense that you have a unique URL that someone else will never visit. It's not a problem, but it's not "secure" as one would use the word when talking about software.

I have used this site for many years and found it very valuable. I use ad-blockers extensively because I have a strong distaste for paying for the ads on services I pay for and the tracking that goes along with them. I am sorry to hear of the financial strain on the site. I was happy to donate to help keep it going. Good luck with the fund the raising.

Once again, it won't process my donation without the input of my phone number, which I am not going to provide. I have made other purchases today on other sites with the same cc that did not require my phone number. I don't understand why you won't take my donation without the input of one of my phone numbers.

From what I can gather from scanning the posts they relate to country specific issues for either the sender or where the receiving account is registered. Since the financial regulations for each country will likely be different this explains why you can send/receive to/from one source but maybe not to another. Mobile phone numbers are requested to combat fraud since they are used to send an SMS verification code. MC – Site Manager. view

It asked for (actually: required) either a mobile, home or work number. My home number can't receive SMS, so that appears not to be the reason it was asking for that info. Plus, usually one has the option to do verification via email, which I did supply. But, it said nothing about a verification process in the form in any case. Just letting you know.

Thanks again for all the work you do, much appreciated. While of course not a social media user, Social Disconnect sounds possibly useful in removing tags &c. Couple of questions.

1. What is known about Social Disconnect: who owns, why freeware, &c. ?
2. Are there any indications that Social Disconnect logs internet or its own usage - it would be a nifty way to collect data without bothering to lure people in - or for that matter does anything to one's computer ?

-and any other "security" questions I have forgotten to ask !

Thanks again.

Thank you rhiannon, for this find. It looks awesome on the surface. Lots of decent simple and straight forward looking features is always a treat. I personally use FastStone Image Viewer. After doing a rough comparison, I can say Quick Picture Viewer opens in about 3/4 of a second on my desktop. Meanwhile FastStone Image Viewer opens in about 1.5 seconds. To myself, I find that impressive. I will be keeping this on my computer along with FastStone Image Viewer and will see in time which turns out to be the overall best for me with simple everyday use. My only immediate suggestion for Quick Picture Viewer would be the ability to also have text on the menu bar along with the small icons.

You're very welcome. I've been trying it out for a few weeks now and I like it. I set the old Windows Photo Viewer to open image files because the Windows 10 Photos is slow and clunky and has things I don't need or use to view images.

The only hiccup I've found is trying to use the Blur feature. The program freezes and I restart it. It's not something I use often so not a deal breaker.
The developers are responsive and put out new versions regularly, you could contact them and ask if putting an option to show text with icons is something they could do.

It arranges the icons on the taskbar so they are centered, much like a Mac computer. You can control the spacing, or have the icons open closer to one side or another. You can change the appearance of some items. To make those changes, open TaskbarX Configurator in your Start Menu. You'll find the options there.
It does unclutter the taskbar nicely, though if you're like me and have a taskbar full of icons, centering them doesn't make a large change.

SecureAge APEX is an anti-malware scanning engine powered by artificial intelligence and as such is about as useful as a paper bag in a thunderstorm. Sangfor Engine Zero uses the same technology. The CrowdStrike Falcon ‘detection’ is based on a confidence of 60%. You will need to read their TOS to determine exactly what this means but usually it indicates that cloud based engines have not before scanned the file or website in the case of a URL. Webroot is the only known name among this bunch and like the others is also riddled with false positives, this being one. A ‘.Gen’ detection is generated when the scanning engine detects nothing but assumes it might be malicious because it behaves like some other malicious software. In all the years I’ve been doing this I’ve yet to understand why folks will actually pay to install stuff like this. MC – Site Manager.
