In the main body of your article, you have this phrase: "Besides heading to wedmd.com that has been a resourceful site to gain medical knowledge ....". Be advised that "wedmd.com" is a TYPO! I believe you meant "weBmd.com", didn't you?

Thank you for all you do to help this 'non-tech savvy' granny on a near daily basis. One thing I recognized early on was that you folks can help weed out the bad, offer cool ideas and site links to helpful software and offer help to those of us who don't particularly understand web stuff. You have been in my e-mail for forever and it's because I appreciate what you do!
Here's to another year, 2017! May it be prosperous and bring much happiness to each of you and each and every reader/subscriber!

"Gizmo's Freeware" has been active for more than a decade; add to that all the years of "Support Alert" and that is certainly a lot of change, not all for the good I might add. But through it all you've been there to help us through it; thank you so much for being there to help us through it and so a Thank You from you? No Gizmo, Thank You!

I "found" Gizmo's many years ago. Through the years, when I want to find software for a particular use, Gizmo's is the first place I look. I have used at least dozens of freeware from this site, fine-tuning the reviews here to lead me to the best programs with the best options for me. About a year ago I added Gizmo's to my list of permanent browser home pages so I could have ready access to it. I'm usually up on Gizmo's several times per week -- and sometimes, per day. The moderator reviews and the comments from users have been very valuable to me. Keep up the great work, and may you all have a super new year!

Post Script to earlier comment:

Gizmo's Freeware may focus on zero-cost solutions, and the site itself be free (not to mention free of advertising), but it does cost real money to maintain.

Gizmo and his extraordinary collaborators knock themselves out all through the year on our behalf; hopefully, other frequenters of the site will join me in making a contribution to help defray the costs and sustain their worthy, indeed essential, efforts.

Great resources and great volunteers doing an excellent / unbiased job make this site a valuable resource to folks looking for solutions to all sorts of computing needs. Just because its free does not mean its inferior! In fact I've found for many solutions the free stuff is often better than a paid alternative. The one element here as opposed to other free sites is the great evaluations of the products and product categories. Its been a go to site for me for many years and I hope for many more years. Keep up the good work.

me2. When i see the word "App" (or "smartphone" for that matter) i read "collector of your personal information."

It seems clear the business model is, we give you something you value for free, and we collect and sell information about you to help companies target ads to you (and who knows what other uses).

Is there any indication this app is not part of that model?

For example, what kind of information could an app gather about you if it could scan several of your documents?

@Jojo Yee thanks for the effort and time that went into this review. I appreciate it, notwithstanding my privacy concerns. Not everyone shares these concerns.

PC search mobile doesn't show up as an option. I downloaded the latest versions for both devices. Totally frustrated and ready to give up. Any suggestions? Thx.

An Easy and Convenient Way to Find Out What Software and Hardware is on a PC 5 years 10 months ago astral_cyborg

Speccy is a good application from a trustworthy developer.
However, it shows only the installed and identified devices of your system.

In cases where you have unknown hardware and no drivers installed yet and you may want to determine the unknown devices, Speccy doesn't help. For these cases, I suggest HWiNFO in general or HWMonitor, CPU-Z and GPU-Z for specific ones.
