Yep, I have been using FreeFilesync for data backup too. I set up the folders I want to back up and the sync options (one direction/both directions etc.) then save the the setup to a .bat file.you can schedule with windows task scheduler or just run manually.. One little trick, FreeFileSync jobs have an option to save a log file. I save the log to a directory on the backup location, so I can check how its been running.
I am a matcha lover, matcha brings me many health benefits, Matcha, like other green teas, contains a class of antioxidants called catechins. Matcha is high in a catechin called EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which is believed to have cancer-fighting effects on the body. Studies have linked green tea to a variety of health benefits, like helping to prevent heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer, and even encouraging weight loss. However, it’s important to note that much of this research isn’t from clinical trials that show green tea causes a benefit. Instead, it’s largely from population-based studies, where researchers look at groups of people who drink green tea and compare their health outcomes to groups that don’t drink it. Studies have shown associations between tea and better health, but causation is not yet proven. Matcha is even less studied than brewed green tea.
Does matcha make you poop? A cup of matcha is equivalent to 35 grams of sweet potatoes, which helps gastrointestinal peristalsis and accelerates excretion.

"Free" for non-commercial usage, yet obtrusive nag popups obscure the screen and whatever you are doing every time a scheduled backup occurs, reminding you that business useage is prohibited and offering to stop the popups by paying their fee for business usage.
That, plus when saving versions of files, the only option is to archive them into an individually named timestamped zip file folder, with the hierarchy of the files saved, also in individualized zip folders, making it very tedious if you have to locate one of the prior file versions.
The wizard interface is also very non-intuitive.
I can see how you would correlate the two, that does seem odd. RomanistHere may add to this, but what I know of how the add-on works in browsers, it wouldn't do that. The extension is open source, anyone can view the code here: https://github.com/RomanistHere/PopUpOFF
I installed it on Chrome and when I clicked on a link in a tab I had open AdBlock Plus and one other add-on - I think it was something to do with printing pages - was installed. I repeated on FF and worked fine. I cannot repeat the issue on Chrome but this is a link (to refresh a blog) that I use multiple times a day from a reputable newspaper and I have never seen it act like this before, so the suspicion was immediately on this new add-on.
Could you be more specific about what ad blocker it installed and other items you've found and where they are located?
The developer says the add-on doesn't block ads. I tested it on Firefox, Edge and Brave and didn't find anything anomalous, if I've missed something I would appreciate knowing about it.
Seemed to install - without asking - a couple of other items as well one was an Ad Blocker and I can't track down the other one, so be VERY cautious with this
I have a similar set up. What I'm talking about are the large boxes that pop up (usually on mouse move) asking you to subscribe to their newsletter or something similar. Or the ones that want you to create an account and blur the background so you can't read anything. Pinterest is good example.
The privacy notifications are normally banners that let you know a site uses cookies and if you proceed, you agree to the use of your data according to the site policy. These are not an issue for me.
The "I just want to read" setting allowed me to get past the paywall of a major newspaper site that was otherwise impossible. Don't know how long that will last, but so far so good.

That's a good option if you don't mind installing another add-on. If you're on a different platform or browser and add-ons aren't supported, it's good to be able to access the information from a website.
I have just downloaded this and, though there's nothing to it as an interface, it doesn't have the simplest of all options - input two file paths and tell us whether or not the files are the same?
If it can't do this then its lifespan on people's PCs is going to be measured in minutes. From my perspective it's a 100% fail. All I wanted to do was compare two 440GB disk images. Not gonna hang around.
I've been using Executor for quite a few years now. It has a function that will clean text on the clipboard that I find invaluable. It's a bit complicated to set up; however, once done, it's a great launcher

Could you point me to where you see that? I've looked at the home page and the page for the Firefox and Chrome add-ons and the page that appears after installation and I'm missing it.
I'm not sure how you could set the feature from the extension itself, it changes the user agent string automatically. You can do that manually and there are add-ons that make it easy. Uninstalling it changes the user agent string to the current browser and version
The extension can be enabled/disabled from the address bar icon, but I don't see a way to change the user agent anywhere.
The page after installation says:
"This extension works by telling Facebook that you are actually using an old browser, which its new redesign doesn't support.
BUT... there are some side-effects of that. Some features may not work perfectly, some might not be available at all (i.e. Video Chat), and there may be some visual quirks.
Unfortunately, I can't do much about those things. Facebook thinks you are using an old browser, so it disables some things that won't work in old browsers. That's just a trade-off."
According to this note on the extension’s own page this feature cannot be set from the extension itself unless I’ve missed something among the myriad of other settings?
“You are on the new Facebook design, and some of FBP's functionality may not yet work. If there is any functionality that is not working for you on the new Facebook design, please try switching to the old Facebook design, and see if that fixes your issue.”
FB Purity is a browser add-on that does this and much more. The developer seems very active keeping well ahead of FB's attempts to foist countless adverts and other crap on users.
Twitter can seem like a dumpster fire at times. I don't have a Twitter account but there are a handful of people I keep an eye on. I don't have the same experience as you've had with links with no reference though I don't like the bitly links they use to track and shorten URLs.
I keep in mind that at any given time, and more so when there large news events, that a significant percentage of Twitter accounts and tweets are from bots. You can purchase large amounts of bots rather inexpensively to gain followers, spread a message, or harass and target inividuals using large groups of bots.
If I keep in mind that Twitter is full of accounts created by bots it's bearable. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If I were president of the world, I would ban twitter.
Most of the tweets (that I have seen) appear to deliberately avoid giving us any hint of what the tweet is about.
Thus everyone has to CLICK A LINK, just so that we can THEN see if it is a subject matter that we MIGHT be interested in.

[Might be nice if someone were to build a 'app' into which one could type the URL and then it would send it to blacklight to check it out and then show you the results on your own screen. And as well if you still wanted to use the site you could check a box and the URL would be typed into your browser so that off you could go to look at that site.]
From what I understand, the non-mainstream browsers have different APIs/coding.
It takes a lot of work to adapt an add-on to each browser and keep it updated.
To do something different or new in the add-on for each non-mainstream browser so the add-on/extension would work with all of them would be difficult and time consuming.
There's only one person developing this (and many other) add-ons. Most people who develop add-ons have their hands full keeping up with the browser upgrades and the ones I know of don't make money from their extensions and add-ons - they see a need and created something to fill it. Most of them have jobs so they can support themselves.
I don't see a fault or anything to blame anywhere.
I'm sure (in this case) that the developer would make changes so the add-on would work with all browsers if it could be done in a reasonable amount of time and with a reasonable amount of effort. It isn't just putting in a little more effort that would be required, it would be reworking the add-on for each browser.
Most developers want people to use their add-ons, that's why they make them.
I have an idea of what this developer goes through just keeping the add-on available at the Firefox Addons site. It's not easy and it's time consuming dealing with Mozilla and making sure the add-on conforms to standards and works with version upgrades.
I'm aware of a few developers who have tried to get their extensions to work with alternate browsers, specifically Brave. They can't make their extension work with Brave, period. It's not possible because of the way Brave is structured and how a particular extension works. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There are web apps, sites and extensions that don't work in Brave - I use it as is, knowing that compatibility and usability are not front and center issues for them. They are developing what they envision the best browser to be. Their code won't allow some extensions to work because of how the extensions function, full stop. There's no blame to be laid, they are developing what they envision as the best browser. Most developers do the best they can to ensure compatibility across browsers.
I'm not calling out Brave, it's one of the non-mainstream browsers I use and am aware of a few people who tried to get their extension to work with Brave and discovered it's not possible.
Love the idea but it seems to have been released too early - for non-mainstream browsers (which I use-eg Brave, Pale Moon and Opera) it either doesn't work or there are geeky workarounds which frankly I can't be bothered deciphering to find if they actually work, sad.
These browsers have millions of users so maybe "non-mainstream" is a stretch but the dev (who has a good looking, informative site) should have put a little more effort in. It's all very well to blame the people behind those other browsers for the incompatibility but the dev IS RELEASING THIS not those others.
Auto-monitoring software installs looks good, which is a feature that free version of IOBit also provides. Would like to test it later, however the program hasn't been updated for nearly a decade.
Writing in 2020, I believe the area of screen session recordings has moved on A LOT since this comparison was made in 2016. I tried Icecream (given in the article as having no time limits) and found a 5min recording limit and a very shaky output file. Searching the web I went on to discover obsproject.com. This is an excellent screen recorder without time limits or watermark. What is probably a good 2020 summary of the free software available can be found here: https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/the-best-free-screen-recorder

Beautiful wallpaper. I found a source for free and very interesting pictures & photos for wallpaper.
It's"Deviantart.com." Have you ever checked it out?
Yep I mentioned in the article that I didn't listen or watch any all the way through (I don't have the speed or bandwidth to so) and that they could be looped since the videos are so long. Thanks for paying attention to how long the loops were and mentioning it, I appeciate it.
While these are quite stunning, each video one is 30 minutes long looped 20 times to make 10 hours. A short logo is inserted between them. They are not 10 hours of original footage.
Nothing wrong with it at all, if that's what works for you. I have several different browsers open at once, which is why I prefer something that works across all browsers platforms and that doesn't require an addon or extension.
What about FoxClocks extension of Firefox?
I find it very easy to use and customize, and it's quickly available if you have Firefox already open (as I normally do all the time).

Finally this category has been updated from scratch and we have a new top pick.
Not REALLY interested in giving anonymous strangers full access to data of that sort.
{Back in '79 when The Source suddenly appeared, based out of McLean VA, a friend pointed out that we really didn't know much about it, but that Langley VA is in that area, and he could think of one organisation that probably had lots of excess computer capacity in Langley that might be interested in looking at random private data...
Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
FileHippo App Manager is no longer supported. SUMo has no direct links (even in the paid version).
Patch My PC has direct downloads with silent installation and a good list of programmes. It is clearly the best choice for Windows

Very nice, thanks for all the hard work
I'm happy you like it. I love DeviantArt, I've been a member for twelve years. I've occasionally posted wallpaper from there. Sometimes an author will remove things or close down their account, and resolutions are hit or miss. The wallpaper tag and topic areas are a good place for wallpapers.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to the beta too.
That's great, I'm happy you like it.

Beautiful wallpaper. I found a source for free and very interesting pictures & photos for wallpaper.
It's"Deviantart.com." Have you ever checked it out?
Five stars for this one. Thanks. And the beta which is near release is even better
Grateful for this.
They are not 10 hours of original footage.
a great add to this list is PDFWrench.com : theyre a free pdf merge tool
Just discovered "PDF Reader by Xodo", a Microsoft app that is a free download. It does it all, and it works on a desktop PC with Win 10.
I'm glad you like it. I had fun with it.
Thanks rhiannon!
Great find!

Ah yep I saw them and then managed to promptly forget them. Thanks for the reminder, I've updated the article. :)
