They are sending patches every couple of hours for a number of people in the queue that is why the difference in the numbers @ nojmit mentioned.
As for people thinking the numbers are "suspicious": If it's a waiting list, the numbers might well decrease now and then, if they are working down the list faster than new people are added to it. My number doesn't mean I am the 65685th person to sign up, but merely that right now 65685 people are waiting to be admitted, me being the last of them.
Hate to be pessimistic but does this mean that they could inform any potential free subscriber that the places are now all filled but that they could proceed for a "reduced special offer" fee, should they so desire? I currently have 71,742 people in front of me in the queue but have no idea where I'm situated overall. At the end of the day, if I'm successful it's cost me nothing. If I'm unsuccessful, the same applies!
For what it's worth, I'm in the exact same place in the queue as I was when I commented yesterday, and more than 7290 people are behind me - this might give you a rough estimate at the speed it's going both with people being added to the queue and people getting in. From those numbers, I don't think the free spaces can be gone yet, but the lack of progress makes me wonder at what they are doing.
I suppose trying to sing up is futile for sometime, because I signed up to gain 100 gb storage, nearly 10 days ago.
since that time no mail did I receive. Should you succeed in anyway, please let me know it.
Godd Lucks!
I got not available in your region as well and I'm in the US Virgins.
And Happpy Pesach - Passover - to anyone who celebrates it. And Divali just a couple of days past, so to all Hindus, a shout-out, Happy Divali. To Christians, a Happy Easter. But it isn't a Christian world, its a world of people of all sorts of faiths and like me, none at all!
Sorry, I meant to say Happy Holi. Slip between the brain the fingertips! But surely you could have understood the sentiment of inclusiveness and happiness to all, not just as some said Its A Christian World, but perhaps not...
oh OK :D... thanks a lot, and same to you. Happy Easter and a belated Good Friday too :).
Well, I do not pay attention to such statements like Christian world and so on. There are different kinds of people, and different kinds of religion all over the world. Basically, all are human beings.
Thanks for posting :).
I notice you chose the Christian festival, that's ok. I'm not a Christian. I prefer the Jewish one right now as it includes more food. I celebrate everyone's festivals that include food.

ADrive only offers 50G free for the first 14 days. Unless somebody has some kind of code that might change that, don't bother to fall for false advertising.
I got Zoolz immediately after downloading StickyPass. I tried to upload just one folder to Zoolz and it immediately slowed my HP 2G laptop to half-a-crawl. Zoolz also required a waiting period of 3-5 days to retrieve a file. I say skip it, even without a waiting period to sign-up.
ADrive still offers 50GB free.
You have to scroll down and look for the "Personal Basic (FREE 50GB)" option.
https://www.adrive.com/login/signup
I actually have two accounts there by accident and have 100GB total storage. Have had them for about 5 years now and never have had an issue. They did take away some features from the Basic users a while back.
I have not used my Smartphone with ADrive yet. Just got the phone a few months back and since I am at home, I just copy over from my PC. So, I do not know about the ads with that. On the site, since I use Firefox with AdBlockPlus, I do not see any ads.
I have not received any email at all. It has been years since I opened it, but there might have been a confirmation email. Other than that, I completely forgot I had one account there when I opened the second as I had never had email from them. So no spam at all.
>> Would you use SpamGourmet for ADrive Personal Free or do you need a "real" email account?

i finally found the perfect personal cloud based storage. once i cleared the clutter caused by "cloud based" storage companies i realized, i've got more used mb's, network adapters, cpu's and hard drives than i could ever fill up with my irreplaceable data. it's a lot faster than uploading to some server, no waiting to get the ok to download what i need and a lot more secure behind my rogers and spencer .44 and my trained attack chihuahua plus it only runs when i tell it to run (very cost effective) since i put that attack dog to protecting my lan, i now have several honeypots setting out trying to lure some germs into my network. i'll bet the clown servers don't openly invite "guest" in.

...along with a frowning "Mac" icon. I question if they are truly working 24/7.
Well, I went to a SugarSync features request forum where crowds of Linux users gather to complain fruitlessly about no support, and posted my referral link to Copy.com (where I get 5 GB for each referral). So, I'm up to 125 GB on Copy.com. I uploaded two hours of home movies and due to the slow upload speeds of our cable, it took all night. But at least it works great on Linux, like UbuntuOne and Dropbox.

Zoolz must have gotten their million free users, because now they're pay-only, and aimed at business users. And no mention of Linux client. Maybe they're still "working on it 24/7".
Remember well this app .. used it for many years and it is still installed but only used on demand. I for whatever reason migrated to WiFi Guard to alert me to when anyone new is on my network .. check it out at https://www.softperfect.com/products/wifiguard/
Many users are not aware they they don't need to install software to get this information. While this program is convenient it didn't get everything correct compared to the reporting from my WiFi router.
WiFi routers can provide lists of connected devices including whether they are connected by WiFi/WLAN or cable/LAN. Provided you have administrative access for the router then you can check this at anytime. The WiFi router is also where you block specific devices from accessing your network.
Sorry, but I'm not at all impressed by this list. I don't deny that some of the sites are very good. That's not the point. What's astonishing is that the author has completely missed the two biggest and best sites - RGB Stock and Pixabay. Between them, they have well over 800,000 free images, all of excellent quality. In contrast, some of the sites listed by the author are very small or limited in scope. This suggests that either the author hasn't done his homework or has particular reasons for mentioning only the ones that he does. Okay, he does list 21 sites. But I know of nearly 200.
Dear @KRT,
Please be so kind as to share your list of almost 200 sites with the rest of us. I know Pixabay and a few others but nowhere near 100 let alone 200.
Thanks, Bob W
@KRT One reason would be "This means you can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission" which applies to the majority of images listed whereas RGB Stock for instance requires registration to download anything and has a ton of small print restrictions for all the images on their site. This is very sad news, WinAmp was my first Windows mediaplayer and I still have a soft spot for it even though I've moved on in terms of my primary player.
I always loved it for the visualisations and the excellent community of coders providing a great variety of skins and plug ins.
I guess this means that the skins and plug ins will also be unavailable. That's a real shame.
If anyone is looking for a good replacement that's equally professional, lightweight, open, plugin-based, powerful, to-the-point, etc, Foobar2K is a perfect alternative for you. http://www.foobar2000.org/

Thanks for posting this. I been using WinAmp it seems like forever. There's something about it that would make my computer seem as if it were missing something. That being said, can someone tell me if WinAmp is going to be no more would it be safe to have on computers? I don't know how that works as far as security issues. Thanks so much.
This news makes me so sad as I felt when I read about M$ buying Skype, years ago. After, the "end" of MSN...
It's realy a pity to see that so many good and useful softwares, full of pleased users, are being aquired in a moment just for disband competing companies, control of market and accumulation of money. Times later, the "dreams are abandoned" and the softwares are simply throwed in trash by the buyers...
The users and fans? "Let's look to the future!"
A number of companies insist on saying that the users are their biggest patrimony and their number one objective, but, in practice, they make exactly the opposite.
I just created an account to sign the petition in favor of Winamp. My words there:
"Winamp was a pioneer and became a synonymous of media player. A very nice and useful software for millions of user, a mark in computation history. It should NEVER disappear!"
Perhaps there are still a few at AOL harboring even a modicum of sanity, compassion and decency.
They've obviously forgotten just how far the good will that would be generated by heeding our appeals could go. After all, corporations are people, too (or so some say...).
Used Winamp for years but got tired of crashes and other technical/performance issues so switched to MusicBee a couple years ago and it has been great. It is not included in the "Winamp alternatives" link provided by AJNorth so thought I would add as another recommendation.
Does anybody know what will become of all the plug-ins, skins, visualisations and so on? It will be a tragedy if these are no longer available as a lot of them can be used in other software as well as Winamp.
Ran across this article:
"AOL is finalizing negotiations to sell off Winamp and Shoutcast in a deal that would allow both products to live on, according to a source with knowledge of the discussions."
http://techcrunch.com/2013/12/19/winamp-will-never-die/
I did check the Winamp site today (December 22, 2013) and the download is still available, even though the download page still says December 20th is the last day.
Yes, this truly is a wonderful gift to the world.
However, the recommended system specifications will leave many of us out in the cold:
• Intel i7 chipset or faster, fast AMD chipset
• Two high-resolution displays (1920 x1080) or above
• PCI Express graphics card (NVIDIA or ATI) with 1GB or higher
• Separate media and system drives (these can be internal or external as long as the
interface has sufficient speed)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the free version of Unity doesn't allow to publish to mobile platforms, as I recall, even in the pro version, mobile platforms had extra cost individually.
"Get the free version of Unity for Windows. It’s fully functional, yours to keep and includes publishing support for the full range of mobile platforms, desktop and the Web."
It sounds like mobile publishing is now supported in the free version.
Did anyone downloaded it and published it to mobile platform ?
I am interested in Android (well who's not) but can not afford just on beautiful talks to download the 1.2 GB.
So need concrete proof that one can develop, publish with the free version in Android Play store.
Just last week, one of my Yahoo mail addresses got hacked from Russia; I did use a password that was deemed of "medium" strength on MS test site, but it was not good enough. So the lesson also is, should you check passwords for strength before applying them, preferably opt for "strong" at least.

No, you have signed up for "Zoolz Business" register for the zoolz free and wait for the email to get your 100 GB.
Alright, after switching to UK vpn, I got the mail by them. I realized it recently :)
No, I went through the regular link & when that didn't work, I poked around some more & got to that "free trial" link...
When I hover over the "sign-up" link for the free 100GB, it turns to a hand, but isn't clickable.
I read through the rest of these replies here & see it won't work for Mac. I'm on Linux Mint- so I'm probably out, too.

Some may find this article from Ghacks entitled, "What’s the best Winamp alternative now that it is shutting down?" of interest -- http://www.ghacks.net/2013/11/21/whats-best-winamp-alternative-now-shutt... .
(This Change.org petition is also linked in the Comments section: http://www.change.org/petitions/aol-keep-winamp-alive-or-let-it-go-open-...).
Tks for the tip about Change.org, AJNorth!
I just created an account to sign the petition in favor of Winamp. My words there:
"Winamp was a pioneer and became a synonymous of media player. A very nice and useful software for millions of user, a mark in computation history. It should NEVER disappear!"
:-)
Congrats -- and THANKS! Your comment is spot-on.

Heads up: Version 5.666, the *final* final version, was released on November 25. So good of them to keep on going right to the end.
We shall of course see if there's a "final" *final* version next week.
Does anybody know what will become of all the plug-ins, skins, visualisations and so on? It will be a tragedy if these are no longer available as a lot of them can be used in other software as well as Winamp.
As a bonus foobar2000 is developed by Peter Pawlowski, who formerly worked for Nullsoft, the people behind Winamp.
And yes, F2K really is an audio player to end all audio players.

A similar freebie is Avid's Media Composer First: www.avid.com/media-composer-first.
As with Lightworks, it requires a powerful computer to do its job in reasonable fashion: avid.force.com/pkb/articles/Compatibility/Media-Composer-First-System-Requirements
You have to keep re-activating your license every 7 days? That could be more annoying than some guy with a Kahuna burger repeatedly saying WHAT?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the free version of Unity doesn't allow to publish to mobile platforms, as I recall, even in the pro version, mobile platforms had extra cost individually.
From their download page:
"Get the free version of Unity for Windows. It’s fully functional, yours to keep and includes publishing support for the full range of mobile platforms, desktop and the Web."
It sounds like mobile publishing is now supported in the free version.
Did anyone downloaded it and published it to mobile platform ?
I am interested in Android (well who's not) but can not afford just on beautiful talks to download the 1.2 GB.
So need concrete proof that one can develop, publish with the free version in Android Play store.
Till then good article.

Anand
Just last week, one of my Yahoo mail addresses got hacked from Russia; I did use a password that was deemed of "medium" strength on MS test site, but it was not good enough. So the lesson also is, should you check passwords for strength before applying them, preferably opt for "strong" at least.
