I have macular degeneration and have so many problems seeing certain thing on the computer screen. Anything with a black background really helps. It's nice to get a wallpaper with the black background that is also beautiful. I simply keep the icons away from the colored section. Thanks.

I have a lawn full of those, and they're maple leaves, not oak. That's what is on the Canadian flag.

I believe they are maple leaves myself, but the person who took the image and posted the wallpaper called them oak leaves.  Since it's their wallpaper, I kept their title. :)

I'm happy you like it. There are so many places on the planet where there aren't leaves, and places that don't have trees that turn colors and fall off according to seasons that I couldn't leave them out. I'd rather live someplace where it's warm all the time but for now I live where there are four distinct seasons. :)

I realize your not a scientist but I don't see any evidence of an impact (which would result in some type of stress fracture at the point of contact). I think it more likely that there is some unseen force to the left of the clear orb drawing matter in that direction.

view
Wallpaper of the Week: Collision 1 year 10 months ago rhiannon

Nope not a scientist. :)
I like your thought of an unseen force. The author of the image titled it Collision so that's the direction I went. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah, I've managed to bring yet another soul over the dark side. :-) I'm happy to hear you like it. It's a good background for people who don't use wallpaper much, or at all (which, I hasten to add, is perfectly fine). I think it's easy on the eyes and has enough detail to make the background interesting without being intrusive. The other wallpaper I mention is darker, with fewer details, has fewer bright areas and adds small touch of color.

I think I know why you cropped the original wallpaper. It seems to show a group (Gilligan, Skipper & Co?) taking a three hour tour in the bottom right foreground.

view
Wallpaper of the Week: Arctic Sunset 4 years 6 months ago rhiannon

I didn't crop the wallpaper. I usually download a smaller image to use for the articles. The one I used is what you see. I think it was 800 x 600 or similar. I didn't notice that the Gilligan, Skipper and the rest of crew had journeyed to the Arctic and that part of their vessel had been cut off. My bad. :)

rhiannon,
i lived on Maui and hiked through haleakala several times. this photo leaves me wondering if it is haleakala crater or one of the cinder cones within the immense crater??
where are kaupo and kulau gaps?

view
Wallpaper of the Week Haleakalā Summit, Aerial View 10 months 4 weeks ago rhiannon

I don't know 100% that the image is in Haleakalā. Outside of the link above, I sourced the image at these three sites to see if the image is accurate:

https://matadornetwork.com/destinations/north-america/united-states/hawa...

https://pixabay.com/photos/geology-volcano-crater-haleakala-1836353/

https://unsplash.com/search/photos/maui?photo=sfgH9dXcMRw

I'm assuming the birds and clouds were added in a photo manipulation program before being uploaded to the wallpaper site.

I don't always know if an image is where it says it is. I do the best I can to verify, but other sources may not be accurate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

James Gart's webpage for Wallpaper Master is not responding. I have one on my desktop and one on my laptop, but they have different menus, and I don't know why. Has any developer taken over from James Gart? I've used this program for years. My only complaint is the limit on number of photos that can be in the source file. Otherwise it's great.

Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 7 months ago jgouse1

Hi Steve, Thanks for the vuze templates, btw demonoid has changed to www.d2.vu, do you think you can make a template for 1337x.org please thanks!!!!! On your site I can not post a comment, it said I did not have acess. Thanks again!

view
Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 7 months ago mr6n8 I have tried to get a d2.vu template working, but have been unsuccessful. I can get it loaded and a check mark, but no results. I have now started testing bittorrent clients for the Best Free Bittorrent Client review (as well as updating the free book pages here) and will not have time to mess with the templates for a while. I suggest you put up a request to Torfeat/The Computerholic's blog http://computerholic.tumblr.com/post/64574377718/vuze-search-templates-t... I finally figured out that Google Sites only allows comments from editors of the page and have removed the comments section to avoid confusion. Thanks for letting me know as your response prompted me to look further into that and find the answer. Steve view
Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 6 months ago Lotus8

HI I opened up vuze one day and I noticed the layout had changed i.e the advanced search and torrent list was on the top instead of the right hand side. A friend said that some of the torrents had become dnr'd so went to Vuze downloads and downloaded the Torrenze project (4th Nov) but there seems to be no improvement... I'm still getting limited selection of searches.. what am I doing wrong? Please Help!
Thanks

view
Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 6 months ago mr6n8 The moving of the torrent site listing and advanced search should not have affected any of the search templates. I have all of the templates from the site linked in this article and they are all working for me (in the USA) in my Vuze. Are you in the UK? The ISPs there were recently ordered to block many of the torrent sites. Did you get your templates from the page linked in this article? Steve view
Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 6 months ago Lotus8

Yes I'm in the UK. I downloaded 'Torrentproject' posted on 4th November. What I can't understand is a friend of mine says he downloaded the same one and get everything??

view
Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 6 months ago mr6n8 That is strange as torrentproject is not on the list of blocked sites for the UK. Can you access the site in your browser? http://torrentproject.com/ view
Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 6 months ago Lotus8

Yes I can, it opens up a new browser search engine. would that be right?

view
Vuze Meta Search: Adding Search Sites 6 years 6 months ago mr6n8 Yes. That is the site that Vuze is (or should be) getting results from when you add that template in to Vuze. Vuze does not really have any content of its own. The meta search just culls results from torrent search sites on the web that have been added in to the meta search through Vuze search templates. Anyhow, the fact that you can access through the browser makes it very hard to figure what is wrong within Vuze. If you can access a site through the browser, then Vuze should be able to access through the meta search after you have added the template. I know there is nothing rong with the template as it works for both I and your friend. At this time all I can suggest is to delete the template from Vuze and try to re-add it back in. Also, you could just search directly at the site - it probably will return even more results than Vuze does as Vuze limits the amount of results from any given site. view
