Good taste rhiannon, I've used that as a desktop before :)
Have you ever checked out Caedes?
Wonderful community with many VERY talented contributors, they also have contests.!.
Not your regular wallpaper site.. http://www.caedes.net/
You just made the hours I spend hunting these down a lot brighter, thank you. :)
I know what you mean, I have a handful of images that show up on my monitors regularly, they don't get old for me.
Oddly enough I was looking at Halloween wallpapers today. :)
After a little research, it's an image of a structure (in Armenia) to break up the force of a raging river.
Personally, I think it looks better in sepia. The metal seems to pop a bit better.
Thank you for finding out what the structure is. It looked like concrete to me in the black and white version, but it could easily be metal. :)
I didn't see the sepia version. I like both equally well.
There are no stars or satellites of Saturn in view which would suggest this is an artists representation of the planet. Good choice for a wallpaper though. I use a similar image for my Google background (using Stylish add on with Userstyles) but I've added the USS Enterprise in orbit there.
Great site! Thank you. I like it too! :)
Downloaded some wallpaper files yesterday but now I cannot get to that site!!
Perhaps too many followers went there and crashed their server ???
Love Gizmo freeware, keep up the Outstanding work, also like the pic of Sunflowers is great, but incorrect, Sunflowers always Face the Sun, not like the pic shows.
According to this article, "Mature sunflowers finally stop displaying heliotropism when they start to develop seeds and therefore droop from the weight of these seeds. They end up mostly facing east from this point in their lifecycle on."
Quite obvious for some mature and drooping sunflowers shown in the wallpaper :)
I'll probably never use the sunflower wallpaper as a desktop image as is, but it's just begging for some text in a couple of areas, so it's going onto my one of many todo lists.
I've noticed that today too, it doesn't happen all the time, but regular enough. If I click the link again it resolves fine. I'll pass that along so it can be taken care of.
It was a Frank Zappa concert in Switzerland.
Apparently Deep Purple was across the lake from the Zappa concert and saw the huge fire and smoke over the lake.

I remember that being talked about back when the song was released.
Wallpaper Abyss is a site I've had bookmarked for a long time. They probably have the best selection of military themed wallpapers (including the famous Iwo Jima flag raising)....which is a category most other wallpaper sites completely ignore.
I like the site a lot, and you're right, they have images of subjects that aren't common on other sites.
My only slight issue with them is that many of the wallpapers are only available in smaller resolutions. That's much like most wallpaper sites, while a few have pretty much all high resolution images.

You're welcome, I'm glad you like it. :)
Pretty
Anyone know what volcano it is?
I looked but didn't see a description at the site....
Both are beautiful images, and I appreciate you pointing them out to us, as always.
Correction: Lava doesn't dry. It only solidifies as it cools.
Thanks for the clarification. :)
Some real quality pictures here. Search for "fox" and look at the leaping infant.
Good taste rhiannon, I've used that as a desktop before :)

Keep em coming !
I still can't get beyond Collision, for some reason it doesn't get 'old'.
Halloween looms..:)

Thanks Jojo. :)
I seriously doubt that the image, The Sanctuary Mountains Aurora Borealis, is anything but a composite. The colors are just SO unnatural.
Yep, it's a digital image. Credit to the artist who created it is in the description.

What a beautiful photo, nice choice! *thumbs up*
The more I see the nature's beauty, the more I feel me amazed and blessed for its wonders... thank you, rhiannon! :-)
Thanks :) I'm glad you like it. :)
Your current wallpaper is what's on my desktop now.
That's wonderful. :)
I did change my wallpaper a few days ago, it's now a watercolor painting by Winslow Homer of a rocky shore.
Rocky Shore Watercolor by Winslow Homer desktop wallpaper 1920x1080
This is a beautiful wallpaper. Thank you!
Wonderful! *applause*
Thank you, rhiannon! :-)
I'm glad you like it. :)
You're very welcome. :)

Both sites are working fine for me across a few different browsers. ¯\_(シ)_/¯
Firefox gave me a warning, but gave it the go ahead and everything is just fine.
I haven't gotten any warnings in any of the handful of browsers I use and both sites are working fine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I use Firefox, and both sites working fine for me too.

Thanks....and you're right about the sunflowers. A bit of image manipulation going on there, but it makes for a nice wallpaper. :)
Maybe these are mature sunflowers, Rhiannon.

Oh, you know, there is room for some text. :)
Nice, thank you rhiannon! :-)
Thanks Jojo. :)
Beautiful wallpaper. Thanks rhiannon.
I usually don't click on these, but this one got me.
I'm happy you like it. :)
I'm glad I turned up something you like. :)
As usual, very beautiful photos, rhiannon... thank you so much! :-)
Ooo, this is a good one! Thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome, I'm glad you like it. It's one of the nicer space images I've found.
I have over 3000 images in my wallpaper rotation - and over 800 are from NASA's "Astronomy Photo of the Day".
This one will be joining them.
Excellent. :)
When i clicked the "download" link {having lost some of my wallpapers inb a disk crash}. the first thing i got was a redirect.
And when i clicked the "Add new comment" link to post this, i got another redirect.
I've noticed that today too, it doesn't happen all the time, but regular enough. If I click the link again it resolves fine. I'll pass that along so it can be taken care of.
No fire in the sky?
And there's no Deep Purple to be found anywhere.
I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the reference. :-)
Did you know that was an actual indecent?
No I wasn't....I'll see if I can find it. :)

Whenever I see Lupins I'm reminded of that famous Monty Python highwayman, Dennis Moore :)
I didn't think of that connection, it's a good one.
Thank you. I haven't had a chance to look it up, that was an interesting read. :)

The thing in the picture is an old fashioned mailbox for a dorm or apartment. Each numbered thing is the cover of a mail slot.
*thumbs up*
:-)
I'm delighted you like it. :)
