I'm glad you like it. It works well for me, my internet is slow and YouTube videos normally stutter.
I haven't looked around for other video sites, I think the main objective with this is to allow people to leave out the tracking aspect, and the no ads is a good thing too.
There may be others out there, this one was recommended by a friend.
I tried to download Invidiuos, but couldn't determine what link to click on; so. I clicked on everything possible.
I still couldn't download it.
It sounds like something I would like to have.
Please help.
Thanx,

OpenVideo detects almost every video and can play it in its own video player - bypassing all ads without being detected:

Fascinating.
DDoS can also be done openly from computers linked into some ISP who do not care enough to stop it. I have no solution does anyone. The result is your website slows to a crawl.
Furthermore, the map seems incomplete, for example, there is nothing about Germany, Israel and Australia there I noticed.
A very good question! There are various reasons. The attacks are generally coming from botnets, ie networks of hundreds of thousands of compromised computers all over the world. No one has the resources to track down all these people. Especially as they are innocent of any crime. Plus, there's no legal way to make people disinfect their PC.
Also, tracing an individual PC is not easy. All we have to go on is an IP address, and in many cases you'd have to subpoena the ISP in order to find out who it belongs to. And ISPs don't want to hand over this information on a large scale because they don't want to gain a reputation for giving away their customers' right to privacy.
And then there's the cases of large-scale attacks being launched maliciously from places like China or North Korea. A different kettle of worms entirely.
It was HTTPS Everywhere plugin in FF that I had to disable Google API in for the page to load properly. This is another good site http://map.ipviking.com/
I remember going on a tour of NASA's JPL a few years ago. It was a very informative visit, which included live views of current spacecraft construction from a viewing gallery, entry to the control room from which current active missions are being monitored, the launch tracking room from where actual launches are tracked, and of course a lot of spacecraft history. Quite fascinating!
I have been using my Creators Update for 10 days now (got via Windows Insider Program) and have been impressed with how smoothly the 4gb download and install went. All my files remained intact from my previous Anniversary version and it was just a matter of cleaning the windows.old folder to reclaim lost space on my SSD.
I have checked out the new features in this major update and turned off those which are not relevant to my requirements but overall it looks to be a worthwhile incremental improvement and seems to have been well tested before its release (unlike Windows 8) and everything has functioned seamlessly in the 10 days since I installed it.
I have a fast network speed with unlimited data usage and even so the download and installation took a couple of hours so those with restricted network data limits and/or slower speed will probably take longer.
Overall a positive experience from me at this early stage.
Thanks for raising the subject of Windows 10, or actually Windows 11
The original concept that Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, was actually a myth.
Microsoft announced that the original Windows 10 version, launched in July 2015, (less than 2 years ago) would no longer receive security and quality updates after May 9, 2017
That right, the original Windows 10 version, will soon no longer be supported
Phasing out of support for original Windows 10 "was needed because two major updates for the operating system have been rolled out, namely the Anniversary Update and the Creators Update.
Two groups of people I feel sorry for - firstly the endusers who just want to browse internet and use their existing applications without all the disruption. I also feel sorry for software developers, who have a moving target to deal with when trying to create stable software
I use Microsoft Windows every day, so I am a supporter.
But looks like the company will always expect us to continually upgrade the Operating System, just so you can contnue to do the same tasks on your computer
It makes me smile when I see "Windows 10 Creators Update - 4 new features that will boost productivity" or similar web articles
What Microsoft fails to mention, are the inevitable problems that arise with older applications and device drivers when you upgrade
For example that USB reader or Webcam you bought 3 years ago that sudden stops working - and the manufacturer not wanting to update their device drivers
Losses of productivity often are more common than benefits of this continual upgrade process
A 4GB download and installation is essentially a new operating system.
Google "Red X debacle" to see how Microsoft tricked a lot of people into accidentally upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 !
Shame we cant create an Operating system that remains secure without having to relentlessly upgrade the entire installation
The best idea Microsoft could come up with is creating a separate Windows security module, much less than 4 GB, that does need to be reguarly updated, with the rest of the Operating System left unchanged
I also find it hard to understand why these huge updates to Windows 10 were necessary so soon after each other.
Both the Anniversary and Creators updates were big downloads and I agree that this latest Creators version is virtually Windows 11.
Many of the new features seem to be gamer and social media focused which are of no interest to me but will no doubt be appreciated by many.
Each update comes with more privacy concerns too as discussed elsewhere here.
Despite all this the latest Creators update runs very smoothly on my laptop and I like it.
Don't bother with current Creator Update! Installed and only major difference I noticed was that my computer took almost 3x longer to boot up!
Otherwise nothing special...WAIT!!! I just want my computer to operate fast and respond quickly, this update seems to slow everything down. I don't care about other "enhancements"
"The best idea Microsoft could come up with is creating a separate Windows security module, much less than 4 GB, that does need to be regularly updated, with the rest of the Operating System left unchanged"
Well said - I couldn't agree more.
That would be ideal but the security loopholes can appear in any other "modules" that Windows may have. They can appear in Edge, Office, and any other apps or services.
Not a problem. The security patches can be combined into one regular 'Security' download, and when installed the various fixes are applied to Edge, Internet Explorer, Office or whatever
I would much prefer a regular single download to address security issues, than a 4GB every 1-2 years, which basically changes the entire Operating System
Is this "ethical hacking" oriented mainly, I hope. Good to learn how to find vulnerabilities in your system. ( Don't need Gizmo training "bad guys".)
Always wondered how to use the web developer tools as this knowledge can be useful in troubleshooting things. Are there learning links etc. that one can be referred to? Thanks.
This is a really good resource website. I downloaded all the MS Office manuals and they are well done. Very nicely organized with good graphics and easily explained topics. A great model for anyone thinking of creating their own manual. I also really like their site. well laid out and intuitive to the eye. no I dont' work for them lol. I just appreciate well designed sites. Keep it up Gizmos.
I have three user account on a Windows XP machine.
I have corrupted the User Accounts.
>> Control Panel, User Accounts, get "wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment"
Result, cannot change password picture, or security level on any of the three users.
Any helps?
The form you have to fill to get it is pretty annoying. But it's worth it. The book looks very good.
I used Opera's very good vpn/proxy, script defender and fake name generator to get to the download.
Just downloaded. It's more of a general overview book with very little specific hacking information. Searched for "sql injection" and there were two matches with no explanation of what it even is much less an example! Mentions in one sentence that you can encrypt your messages with PGP (which almost nobody uses these days). A very short paragraph on honeypot, but zero info on setting one up, just a reference to google hack honeypot. Indeed, the entire book seems to be mostly a reference for software tools. Just reconfirmed my low opinion of the whole "For Dummies" genre.
Just last week, one of my Yahoo mail addresses got hacked from Russia; I did use a password that was deemed of "medium" strength on MS test site, but it was not good enough. So the lesson also is, should you check passwords for strength before applying them, preferably opt for "strong" at least.
Thanks Rob for pointing us to that interesting must-read article.
Main conclusion: long = strong
>> So the lesson also is, should you check passwords for strength before applying them,
>> preferably opt for "strong" at least.
I would say: opting for "long" is better.
Since you don't know how a site determines a password is "medium" or "strong".
But as the article reveals: long IS strong
>> https://www.passwordsavvy.org/
This makes you feel safer while you aren't.
As the article reveals too: replacing 'e' by '3' or 'o' by '0' doesn't make your password stronger at all.
This is an amazing - and scary - article. I thought I had a handle on how to create safe passwords, but the variations this cracking process easily applies shows me I'm not any safer than the majority of otherwise uninformed users. Everything changes today.
No, it's not generally feasible to hash the username as well. Sites need to know the "real" username because it is a key to not just the password, but also to the rest of the data record associated with that account.
For example, if I wanted to know your email address, I (as a moderator of this site) could go to your record in the database and probably find it. But if your username was stored as a hash, how could I find your record?
I do not completely follow you and you appear to have made a mistake with your assertion that: 'put "TechSupportAlert" through the MD5 hash formula and it comes out as b7c1ecff69702b37278e9badcb386e30.'
Using the freeware IgorWare Hasher program or the http://www.adamek.biz/md5-generator.php webpage, it is apparent that "TechSupportAlert" has MD5-value of 1f7d7254b28b1ada3a47aaba7c8335f1 (or c7a1471461abe6d07f05b200396a8619 if the quote marks are included).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the free version of Unity doesn't allow to publish to mobile platforms, as I recall, even in the pro version, mobile platforms had extra cost individually.
"Get the free version of Unity for Windows. It’s fully functional, yours to keep and includes publishing support for the full range of mobile platforms, desktop and the Web."
It sounds like mobile publishing is now supported in the free version.
Did anyone downloaded it and published it to mobile platform ?
I am interested in Android (well who's not) but can not afford just on beautiful talks to download the 1.2 GB.
So need concrete proof that one can develop, publish with the free version in Android Play store.
Yes, this truly is a wonderful gift to the world.
However, the recommended system specifications will leave many of us out in the cold:
• Intel i7 chipset or faster, fast AMD chipset
• Two high-resolution displays (1920 x1080) or above
• PCI Express graphics card (NVIDIA or ATI) with 1GB or higher
• Separate media and system drives (these can be internal or external as long as the
interface has sufficient speed)

I always loved it for the visualisations and the excellent community of coders providing a great variety of skins and plug ins.
I guess this means that the skins and plug ins will also be unavailable. That's a real shame.

Just try it, the screenshots and such on the site hardly show 1% of its potential. You can customize EVERYTHING, set it all up with format strings to parse tags into folder structures and display items and such.
It's the last line of defense between us and rubbish like iTunes...
Thanks for posting this. I been using WinAmp it seems like forever. There's something about it that would make my computer seem as if it were missing something. That being said, can someone tell me if WinAmp is going to be no more would it be safe to have on computers? I don't know how that works as far as security issues. Thanks so much.

Hi Nick,
It's not a download, it's a web site, and the link is at the end of the article (it says Visit Invidious), here it is:

Thanks R, a great site! Added bonus, it works great with my favorite Downloader 4k video downloader. A keeper.
Great, it's good to know it works 4k video downloader. :)
Those are great sites, thanks for posting them.
Thanks. It gives a bad link message if you enter a channel, but does fine on individual videos.
Thanks. That really is minimalist. :)
Thanks. :)
Interesting, thank you. I hadn't seen that.
Thanks Panzer, I'll add it to my list. :)
Thank you! :)
That looks interesting, I'll check it out. Thanks. :)
Doesn't using Tor-browser accomplish the same thing?
I don't know. My internet connection is too slow to use Tor. The handful of times I've tried Tor it hasn't worked at all well.
Thanks a lot, Rob, now I am wasting time staring hypnotically at the screen.
If they know where the attacks are coming from, why can't the computer owners be notified to clean their machine?
Can not use that website in FF 38.0.5 on Windows7 here. I get the folowing error:
Unfortunately, an error occurred while loading geographic data. You might need to upgrade your browser.
There is also this presentation:

Try again. I had no problem on FF 38.0.5, Windows7
Just tried it in FF 38.0.5 Win 7 Pro SP1, no problem loading. Try pinging the site - you might see where the problem node is.
It was HTTPS Everywhere plugin in FF that I had to disable Google API in for the page to load properly. This is another good site http://map.ipviking.com/
Same error here, but in my case the guilty was Adblock Plus. I just disabled it in the page and worked immediately.
Thank you for sharing, rob! :-)
I wonder where all those "unknowns" into the US are coming from?
Worked for me too. Just took a moment to load:-|
