A Distraction-Free Text Editor For Uncluttered Writing [1]

Modern Windows applications seem to use up most of your screen space for their menus and other options, leaving you little room to actually use the program. When you're writing something, such as a letter or other document, this can be distracting. Surely it's better to have a screen that's clear of clutter, so you can concentrate on your words and see of many of them as possible.

If you feel the same as me, then have a look at a program called WriteMonkey. It's downloadable from http://writemonkey.com/ [3] and is free. The file is 9 MB, it's malware-free according to VirusTotal and Web of Trust, and it's portable so it requires no installation.

To bring up the menus in order to save and print your work, just right-click on the page. Although the program dates from 2014, it works perfectly on Windows 7, 8 and 10.
