Issues currently under consideration:

  • SEO of existing site
  • Publicity for site
  • Organising cash generation when needed
  • Expansion of Gizmo awards program
  • Branding promotions
  • Possible merging with or acquisition of complementary freeware sites
  • Creation of site blog
  • Expansion of site RSS feeds
  • Expansion of site forums

2. Site content expansion group. Group leader: Gizmo Richards

Issues currently under consideration:

  • Encouraging contribution of more articles by site visitors
  • Adding more review categories including more technical areas such as networking tools and more commercial areas such as search engine optimization
  • Broadening existing reviews to cover installation and usage issues
  • Addition of Mac and Linux freeware
  • Addition of web services not just client software
  • Find a way of featuring time limited "hot deals" on the site

3. Site usability improvement group. Group leader: George Lewe

Issues currently under consideration:

  • Improvements to current software classification system
  • Evaluate search improvements (tags, tag clouds, search engine, etc.)
  • Alternate search along the lines of "I want a software program that …"
  • Creation of a new front page with much more "currently hot" type information to attract the attention of regular site visitors
  • Addition of vBulletin forum and integration into Drupal
  • User rating system for category reviews and/or editors
  • Improvements to the site's appearance
  • Ways to improve feedback to users and editors
  • Ways to make it easier for visitors to create new content

  • How to expand the number of category editors and to create on-going recruitment
  • Improved ways to manage the category editors
  • Making things easier for category editors
  • Providing more benefits and better motivatation
  • Ways to get more involvement from site visitors
  • Ideas to increase the number of returning site visitors
