Instantly Add Color to Black-and-White Photos with Image Colorizer

It is a good tool to add colors to black-and-white photos easily.

Image Colorizer is a cross platform tool that lets you add colors to black-and-white photos whether using the online tool, Windows or Mac programs or apps for both Android and iOS.

We’ve written before about colorizing black and white images. Here’s a new tool that’s fast, easy to use, and is available across multiple platforms.

Test results on a variety of images were excellent overall. Skin tones are rendered accurately while photos with lots of architectural detail or complicated backgrounds were rendered clearly but with less color. A few images had small patches of color and at times the AI powered colorization process occasionally rendered the wrong color on fabric.

Images are cleared every 24 hours to protect privacy, and a check the next day showed the images were unavailable.

If you have any black-and-white photos that could use some colors, give Image Colorizer a try. It’s quite good.

Online:

Image Colorizer

  1. Go to the website.
  2. Upload/drag & drop the images into the designated field.
  3. Click ‘Start’.
  4. Wait a few seconds.
  5. Click ‘Download’ to see the result.

The online version doesn’t watermark the finished image. You can upload 5 photos for colorizing. Images should be less than 5MB, 3000×3000, and in .jpg .jpeg or .png format.

Windows and Mac:

Picture Colorizer is the name of the Windows and Mac programs that colorization and restore old  photos. You can colorize more photos than online, but, the free version has a prominent watermark along the bottom of the image and the colorized photo will be resized to 1200*1200. The paid version removes the watermark and size restrictions.

Windows and Mac versions have several features to adjust and filter images post-production:

  • Brightness / Contrast / Saturation.
  • HSV Adjustment. Including Hintensity, Sintensity and Vintensity.
  • Sharpness. Including Amount, Radius, Threshold.
  • Denoise. Including Radius, Delta.
