After successfully upgraded a laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 using the USB media, I tried to upgrade another device which is an Acer Win8 tablet.

On this tablet, I had reserved Win10. After tapping the Windows 10 upgrade reservation notification icon on the taskbar, I was just greeted with the following:

So no luck and have to wait for a new driver from the developer.

Well, the icon has appeared again today. MS likes to play .

Sort of. When I reserved the Windows 10 for the tablet, it showed that device was compatible. When about to upgrade, it said no.

Some users of the same model also experienced the same according to this thread. Some smart guys tried to use drivers for Win8.1 to work around, but not 100% work.

Well what do you expect from salesmen???
You should know that they will sell their own grandmother even though she has been buried for years.

Jojo, my own thought about the issues that you and Anupam experienced tells me that Microsoft didn't have all their bases covered. I expect to hear about more glitches as time goes by.

I think it has to do with Hardware and driver issues, that's normal, it happens with any new OPS installing new,i had no issues getting the Auto Upgrade with my 2 HP DV5/DV6 laptops, but i had to go with the Win download tool to upgrade my 2 Lenovo desktop,i believe it was because of AGT ATI catalytic HD 6450 graphics card,i bet if i had used on board intel HD card i wouldn't have this issue, error code 80240020,
also can say that the Ati catalytic drivers and Tv Displays outputs work much better on Win 10 then it was on Win7,just for that it's worth it for me.
