Resolved SpaceEye has live satellite imagery for your Mac or Windows desktop background.

SpaceEye is an open source desktop app which sets live, publicly available satellite imagery as your desktop background.

Download it Now! https://github.com/KYDronePilot/Spac...eleases/latest

Your desktop background updates throughout the day
New images are downloaded every 10 minutes to 1 hour (depending on the image size), giving an up-to-date view of the Earth on your desktop.

12 views from 5 satellites
There are currently 12 views from 5 different weather satellites: Himawari-8, GOES-17 (West), GOES-16 (East), Meteosat-8, and Meteosat-11.

High resolution imagery
Satellite views can be downloaded in up to 8K resolution (if supported by the monitor and satellite view) for crystal clear background pictures of the Earth.

Cross-platform
Can be installed on both macOS and Windows.

Free and open source
SpaceEye is 100% open source and provided free of charge. Contributions are welcome!
Important Note: The Mac Version from the Apple APP Store doesn't work on older Mac OSes like 10.11 or 10.13 - but the Latest Release from Github works FINE with them! See Issue #26: https://github.com/KYDronePilot/SpaceEye/issues/26

Yeah, you COULD peer out the Window and see a small part of the weather from below ... or this can give you an angel's eye view of your wider area from ABOVE. Written with Electron ... and Open Source! You could likely compile it for Linux and contribute a Binary.

Sea Mac

P.S. Stunning and Beautiful Pictures of our Planet ... from different and simultaneous angles ... take THAT, Flat Earther's! The View from Orbit with your desktop as the Window out of the Capsule!

If you installed it by way of the APP Store you uninstall it that way.

If you got it through the Github Release: simply move the Executable (SpaceEye.app on a Mac System) to the trash and Empty the Trash. On a Mac the unneeded user data can be deleted by putting the Home/Library/Application Support/space-eye folder in the trash also.

The APP is written in Electron and all dependencies are contained in the Binary, AFAIK ... so deleting the APP gets rid of all but the data and Downloaded Images folder. I don't know where Windows hides User Files ... On a Mac they are all in Library/Application Support/{APP-NAME} or in Home/Library/Application Support/{APP-NAME} ...

(I found the downloaded images on my system to be 12.5 MB 5000 by 3000 High Rez Images. I'm going to suggest to the Developer that the APP delete images older than 12 hours to prevent them piling up.)

Talking I used it to make something else

I copied the photos to a different folder to save them ... after I got a couple dozen of them saved up I made an Animated GIF out of them ...

Maybe I can get the number of photos kept to be a SETTING / The Number of Hours of Photos kept (2 - 32) ... So i could easily make one of these a day ...
