Emsisoft Anti-malware

Seems like A-Squared has been replaced by Emsisoft Anti-malware. Is that true? If yes, anyone been using the Anti-malware? What are the opinions about it? I have A-Squared 4.5.0.27 with me. Should I install it, or should I go for the Anti-malware?

Go for it...

Emsisoft Antimalware 5 is one of the best comprehensive security apps out there. It may have a few false positives but given its very high detection capabilities, that shouldn't be a surprise.

With the release of version 5, it also changed name. So, basically it's the same product, plus the changes/ improvements made.

A-squared 4.5.0.27 is outdated, go for the latest version.

I have benefited by the wealth of useful info here, so the little I can give back I gladly do.

In that same link the answer is "yes", but since I'm not on a 64bit machine I can't say how well it performs. Best to check their forum.

I find Emsisoft Anti-Malware bloated if you only want an on-demand scanner.

Hitman Pro (native 64-bit) and VirusTotal (uploader checks hash) both include it, so I've uninstalled it.

a-squared changing its name to Emsisoft Anti-Malware and then also reinventing itself as Emsisoft Emergency Kit (more news about that soon) has caused a great deal of unnecessary confusion.

The latest version of EAM is 5.0.0.60 and is both 32 bit and 64 bit capable.
