A new version of Emsisoft Anti-malware has been released. This is what the changelog says :

Quote:
* PDF file extension added to default extension list.
* 3-day trial mode bugfix.
* Freeware license option in setup wizard added.
* Freeware use without user account registration added.
* Several minor licensing bugfixes.
I haven't downloaded it yet, because they offer download from Download.com, and it has not been updated there yet.

The license problem should be solved now it seems. I will install and give feedback.

Thanks Av_Crazy .

Where did you download it from? The official download is hosted at Download.com, and it still shows version 5.0.0.64. Download.com are always too slow to update the versions .

A moderator on Emsisoft forum has supplied a direct link hosted on Emsisoft server, on the same thread where I had asked the question.

http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/23...-to-version-5/

So, if anyone wants to download directly from there, they can do so. I am right now downloading from that link .

Rains are not as good this time Av_Crazy, but they are not less either. Hope for the best .

I downloaded the setup from the link provided by the moderator in the Emsisoft forum. There is now a Freeware Mode, which is presented in the options while installation. So, this solves the problem of freeware version not getting activated. The program is successfully installed and working great .

Emsisoft Antimalware version 5.0.0.68 has been released. It is mainly a bugfix release. I noticed that the setup size for this version is 86 MB, whereas the previous version was 104 MB.
But, the definition update size has gone up ... I am downloading 11 MB updates now, whereas they used to be quite less in the previous version.
