New version 7.0.22.8 http://privacyware.com/PF_support.html

Changes in 7.0.22.8:
* Eliminated errant installer registry entry
* Added updated Help File
* Fixed Settings defect in which "Disable Auto-Response" option was not preserved after reboot

I was waiting for you MC to do the honors

For those of you who install the new version on top of the last, check your settings.

On my XP Pro SP3 setup (and my wife's) I noticed that there was one small issue. (And I've been corresponding with Greg Salvato of Privacyware about it so he's already aware of the possible glitch.)

On our machines, the box to "always display alerts for new outgoing connections" was unticked. All other settings appear to have been properly preserved. Naturally, YMMV.

After I reestablished the settings they remained intact after a reboot on both machines.

Hope this may be helpful.

I did a fresh install of PFW 7.0.22.8 as I disabled XP firewall which I was running previously with Geswall and "always display alerts for new outgoing connections" box was unticked as it's supposed to be ??.....unless you manually check it....which I did and rebooted a few times and the tickmark remained.
Anyway, I am hoping that PFW continues to play nice with Geswall so far so good...if not I will go back to Sanboxie.
Thanks for the heads up and the pertinent information. I notice that PFW is becoming a bit hit over at Wilders

That feature would be unticked by default. I was only bringing up the possibility of it's being inadvertently unticked during the new installation if you already had that feature set (as I had).

GeSWall is a good program. I used to run it on my wife's rig before Sandboxie began playing nice with Synaptics drivers for the touchpad.

I personally had a long learning curve with GeSWall as far as learning how to get certain programs to do what I wanted but eventually I got it to where it worked really well on her system.

That said, I'd probably be reluctant to run Privatefirewall's HIPS along with GeSWall. You'll probably have less potential issues if you turn off the Process Monitor options.

Personally, I think Sandboxie is tops. I switched my wife over to it once the driver issues were dealt with. I find it much more intuitive to work with and it is an amazingly versatile application. Runs absolutely seamlessly with Privatefirewall and my AV.

Oh, and you're welcome...
