Default How to wipe disk for average user?

Here's the situation: somebody you know has a hard disk that is too far gone to save - trojans, junk files, the works. They have all their data backed up. They are an average office user so wouldn't know FDISK from F-Secure. They have a Windows XXX CD to rebuild with. They are miles away on the end of a phone, with another PC to go online with if necessary.

How would you describe to them how to wipe the disk and start over?
