True that some are not much more than that but even they might satisfy some users who prefer the look over the standard issue and maybe appreciate a smaller community.

Indeed. Nice to have these individual efforts instead of just another spin "based on" something, but folks will soon lose interest if they don't work. Just admire the commitment necessary to do this...
