Unhappy making a DVD help please

So I have been converting old family videos from VHS to the PC and now I would like to combine them all onto a DVD. They are all small 3-5 minute clips and should fit onto 1 or 2 dvds fine, but I am having trouble finding a dvd authoring app that will let me stipulate that i do not want to spread the videos so 6 videos take up the whole disc. Can anyone help me out?

Hello wario44,

Welcome to the forum.

I'd recommend the Portable Apps version of DVDStyler. It is portable and "stealth" as well. If you aren't satisfied with it then uninstalling is as simple as deleting the "DVDStylerPortable" folder and no cruft will remain on your system. I've been using it for some time now and it works great.

If you need a crash course on how to use DVDStyler you can refer to an earlier post of mine here. If you have a lot of videos I'd recommend that you categorize them and use a system of menus when you are creating the DVD. For example, you can create sub-menus with buttons linking to videos by year, but at the same time you should also put a Home button on each sub-menu page and link it back to the main menu. If done properly, the menus would allow you to navigate to whichever videos you want to watch at any time. It will take some time and effort to plan and devise the menus but you would end up with a much more satisfying product than if you were to just dump all the videos on the DVD without a navigation system.

One other thing. If you want to create and test an ISO in VLC like I mentioned in my older post, you will encounter a problem. There is a bug in current version of VLC (i.e. version 2.2.1) that makes it display menu screens all in grey. The nightly builds of VLC do not have this problem. You can access the VLC nightly builds from this page.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
