Exclamation Google and Apple want their app stores to focus on subscriptions

Goodbye, one-time pruchases. Hello, monthly payment. It's a win-win for the big companies and the developers, but I think the consumers won't be so glad...

Anyway, this could be very good news for the freeware developers. People will love them more than ever. I'd rather donate to them instead of paying a monthly subscription.

It will also suit big companies as it moves the purchases from capital to expense budgets and therefore does not count as a fixed asset.
