Default Screenshot app for android tablet

Just got the 'best free android apps 2015' and there are no free screenshot apps. Can anyone suggest one for my Samsung tablet? When the tablet was new there was an icon to press to take a screenshot - after upgrading that option is no longer available. Their solution is to use power & volume button together... never works for me. It either does nothing or mostly just turns it off.

By default, you can take a screenshot by pressing hardware buttons, either "Power + VolumnDown", or "Power + Home" depending on your device model and the Android version. Some hardware vendors modify the Android system so that you can press an icon or a shortcut to take a screenshot.

Most third party apps fall back to the system default ways to take a screenshot, or require your device to be rooted to be able to use other methods.
