Thanks this will do for now until CWM supports my phone.

Your correct about SystemCleaner it clearly shows which apps not to remove. When you browse the help file it gives a warning in bold red letters to use with extreme caution. More apps should be this responsible

Question again--does this program require a rooted phone?

Cant use OrangeBackup either, my phone is not supported yet. As of now there isn't even a rom for my phone on Rom Manager's website. Not sure if I can use a rom that comes close to my model of phone (Concord Model ZTE V768) http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager

You should definitely install SystemCleanup.

If you want to disable Autostarts / Autoruns just launch the app, go to "Apps", tap on the app you want to edit and then select "Disable Autoruns" from the pop-up menu, voilą! :D

I'm testing this app out, I don't see the disable autoruns option from popup menu. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right though, I go to the apps tab then select the app, long hold it to open popup menu. I get options to move to sd, kill task, uninstall, etc but no disable autorum

Maybe you are doing it on an app that does not auto run :). For apps that auto run, it will show an auto run besides, or below it. For that app, if you do a long press, it will show disable auto runs in the menu.

hm i thought that, but I tried with apps that has the "auto" text on app. not sure what's wrong with it for me :D but I'm running android off my sd card so I'm sure it just isn't compatible

Anupam 20. Apr 2013 08:09 PM

Well, I think both "auto" and "runs" is required for the disable auto runs to appear in the menu.

Just because your phone doesn't show on the OrangeBackup list it doesn't mean it won't work. My phone didn't appear on the "official" list either but the app worked for me anyway.

When prompted, leave the "Brand" space blank and select Samsung Galaxy S Plus as your phone model. That did the trick for me. :D

As soon as OrangeBackup initiates the back-up process it will need to download some extra files, so make sure you're not blocking it with a firewall. Also, make sure you've selected/created a external SD directory as your backup target and that you have unchecked the "Upload Backup" option located within the settings menu.

In the event that the back-up process doesn't work, there is nothing to worry about. The worst thing that could happen is the process to be halted and OrangeBackup saying "Backup error, aborting". No changes will be made to your phone.

Give it a try whhpr. It won't hurt you nor your phone. :)

Thanks I was afraid it might sprout wings and chase me around the living room. On second thought, that's what my mother-in-law does :D

Anyway I'll give it another shot, I'll let you know how it goes.
