Is there a sandbox for mobile phones - Android?
Do we need to have it? What would be a good FREE cleaner app (like CCleaner or Wise Cleaner) for Android phones? Do we need to have disk defrag - Android Defrag FREE - http://download.cnet.com/Android-Def...-75747965.html What about free antivirus/antimalware online scanners for smart phones? What is the best way to manage start-up apps for smart phones? Thank you for any help and answers. |

Different apps for Android, including antivirus, are covered in different reviews/articles, found here :
http://www.techsupportalert.com/mobile-apps/android Please provide links to apps preferably on Google Play Store, because that's the safest place to get apps from. 1Tap Cleaner, CleanMaster, are good apps for cleaning, but cleaning is not so much required as in Windows. Unless you have a rooted phone, start-up cannot be controlled. Before posting more questions, please search the forum, and the articles to see if your answer lies there.

Anupam,
Before I posted my question on Sandboxie (on other question) for a mobile phones, I'd checked Gizmo's Freeware and could not find anything about a sandbox for Android. I've checked your link also but could not find any info on Sandbox for Android. Also, I have a VERY limited knowledge about smart phones. I think, if they - smart phones - are similar to computers, should they have similar apps? I've read a lot of postings in the GF mobile forum, but most of them are related to some kind of games, of "leisure time" entertaining apps. I've been a latecomer to use smart phones; therefore, I'd like to start with the basics. I've noticed that gazillions of "experienced" smart phone users could show you so many "cool" apps but, on the other hand, have almost zero knowledge what's going on inside their phones. Any info from experts at this forum about the foundation of smart phones would be greatly appreciated. |

Your query was not only about sandbox... there were other parts too, and some of them could be found in the articles, or the threads here.
Only recently, in this thread, cleaning up of Android, with suggestions of cleaning apps was done. http://www.techsupportalert.com/free...-up-phone.html There is a separate review of antivirus apps covered here : http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...pp-android.htm A good amount of newbie queries have been discussed on this thread : http://www.techsupportalert.com/free...questions.html Rooting related queries here : http://www.techsupportalert.com/free...oid-phone.html A great list to start for apps, and to see what kind of apps run on Android, there is this article : http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...droid-apps.htm 1TapCleaner, antivirus apps, and others have been covered there. Not discouraging you to post, but enough material is there to read first. I don't think there is sandbox app for Android yet, atleast not that I know of.

Just for info, SD Maid requires a rooted phone. Clean Master has a good interface, but in terms of cache cleaning, 1Tap Cleaner shows greater details, and so I prefer it. CleanMaster has a good feature though, to clean remains of apps. Still, caution is advised because it showed me folders for which apps were still installed.

Android doesn't need defragging. SSD's (Solid State drives) are similar to the storage used in Android devices. Defragmentation won't speed anything up on that type of storage but can damage it by unnecessary write cycles reducing it's life.
Any Defrag app you see for Android is a scam or worse, so avoid them.
