Default How to Make Tor Work on a Mac?

Hey, I just installed Tor by Vidalia, and even with it running an IP identification site is able to reveal every detail of what kind of computer I use and where my ISP is located! What are the particular settings in Safari and Firefox to activate Tor's privacy functions, and where can they be found? Also, do these functions, disguising who you are and where from, work only with websites or can they hide your activity from your ISP, too? Thanks!

After clearing the history on both my web browsers, I installed and activated Privoxy with the same result. The IP address checking site still sees all, knows all, including what I did before installing Privoxy.

The best option for safely surfing on Mac is - in my opinion - JonDoFox which only add a specific profile to Firefox. But it use JonDo and not Tor.
