Thanks for this Panzer. Looks really interesting but the download speed is awful - requiring over a day for me so it's out of the question. Other distros suffer from this same problem and I cannot understand why if they are serious about spreading the word, more of them don't find a way to host a torrent.

Unite 17 and OpenGEU (apparently not supported anymore) still use E17 ...

Further to my other response to this, I see they have now added a torrent.

Prompted by this comment from their "Community Cafe"...

"I have just installed the lastest release and I just have to say WOW! I have tried over 75 different distros. And this one is the most impressive I have seen. Though I have just started uing it"

... I think this now deserves to be looked at

Will try to find some time at the weekend.

It looks pretty rough, even more than Bodhi when it first came out. I like a lot of the E17 ideas though. I wonder how easy it is to get E17 working on ubuntu or Mint? Would that give you the best of both worlds, or a terrible mess to clean up?

Agreed. I did have a quick look but that was it. Their implementation of E17 is way behind Bodhi.

Overall I keep coming back to either Fusion 14.1 or Zorin 5.2. I can reinstall either from scratch and have it fully customized in around an hour. Fusion is more sophisticated but again, because of the Gnome mess, 14.1 is now a semi-obsolete system.

I have a deep-rooted hatred for E17....it decided to wipe half my files when i backed up my minecraft server...thus a loss in several potential linux users i was trying to convert showing them a crappy netbook can be used as an amazingly powerful server via linux....
