Default Joli OS

I received a net book from a friend that bought and ipad and didn't need any more. I wiped and loaded JoliOS. I am really enjoying it! Especially with Boxee installed...

It was become the perfect, lightweight, cloud centric, Linux net book for me. Check it out.

I hate how you have to make a new account or connect to your facebook just to use it.

Why would an OS need such useless details?

Joli OS is cloud centric it is not however light weight. The launcher it uses is very laggy on older netbook hardware and on current netbook hardware it really just wastes resources compared to LXDE/E17

In fact that launcher is heavier than a default Gnome install even, more along the lines of KDE bloat.

I tried Jolicloud a while back and pretty much agree with Jeff91. It's like running a mobile phone os and seems generally somewhat slow, laggy, and bloated. Other than that it works fine, looks pretty, and has virtually no learning curve. For a web based OS I find Mint, Peppermint, or Chrome to be equal or better.
