Default Ubuntu - Assistance loading CD/DVD's

Hello All,

Inorder to get a CD/DVD working onto Ubuntu OS is there anything i need to configure.

Any help would be much appreciated.

None that I know of. It recognizes the optical drive and works out of the box.

An icon for the cd/dvd usually appears on the desktop once you put it in the drive. Is that not happening?

If the drive is works Ubuntu (or any Linux) will detect and use it.
