No joy on the printer problem.

Followed the article step by step. Verified the driver was installed correctly. Configured my kde print manager to use said driver. in print view window I get the all familier Error I wish it could tell me where the error is. This is probably the sixth or seventh attempt. I have not yet begun to fight. Famous last words lol

Cheers

Default You know what i am going to say >>>>>>>

WDHPR what about trying to load up your printing the older way through CUPS web service just a thought.

http://www.cups.org/

Ha, ha. ha Alas CentOS didn't really get off the ground!! As Debain didn't. Now where shall I try next that does not give Gnome and I have to give loads of commands in a terminal? My options are running out and so is my bandwidth despite increasing it for this month

It just gets weirder and weirder or do I really have to question the Linux OS and that its not for the faint hearted on a 64bit system?

Ok the ones highlighted are the ones I have not tried but they may not be 64 bit. I have only gotten this far down the list I have come to the conclusion if it don't work after a couple of tweaks I shan't bother as I have spent god knows how many weeks/months trying this and that and not enjoying it. So now after one chance its dumped. I have to do other things in other forums/photography and live my life. It was dominating my life to get one working. So today there is one I have crossed off as I am downloading it tonight and thats FREEBSD But I doubt I will get that sorted as I have to go to hospital for 3 weeks.

I assume you set the printer up in KDE
selected the driver and made it default.

try
lpstat -t

then try
ls -l | lpr
(we will pipe the listing directly to printer)

let me know what happens

what does the
ls -l /dev/usb/lp0
look like

In addition,
when setting up the printer in KDE,
what driver selections did you have?
