It's funny that DT (on Youtube) chose Antix 19.3 as one his personal top 5 for 2020.

Even if they will never update to latest Plasma, users might appreciate a stripped down version of their KDE just as they did for XFCE.

Either way, 19.3 is good starting point for any newcomer to Linux!

After the way their 'administrator' ripped into me on their forum I will never use anything MX based again.

There is a TP-Link-Wireless-USB-TL-WN821N that is very popular especially here in Brazil. Problem is for 95% of all distros the rtl8192eu driver for it requires installing manually. Worse still the tools needed to achieve this such as Git, Make, GCC and the kernel headers are not included by default with a lot of systems. I merely pointed out that for anyone not inclined to go through all this, the Alt Linux ‘starter kit’ releases will work with it out of the box. The reply was ‘we’re about MX here’ despite other distros being mentioned in multiple threads. I was also told not to resurrect old threads. This one was just two years old, bearing in mind that some LTS releases can have posts up to 5 years old that are still relevant. Then the thread was locked. Exactly the type of fanboy reaction that turns many new Linux migrants back to Windows.
