Have been dual booting Solus Budgie on Windows for a while now.
Knowing that Windows Spring update was coming soon (and it did on the 30th of April), I figured i'd install Grub Customizer and have Solus boot in as second OS so that Windows could do its upgrade thing. But this did not suffice... Forget the error message that came at boot after attempting Windows upgrade but could not repair MBR with old Windows 10 live CD. So I started anew without Solus. Did I miss out on something (other than wipe away Windows)? |

I don't know, never did that before.
There's seems to be a code to enter (when troubleshooting with Windows) that is better than simply hitting "repair" boot. Anyway, since this last ordeal, i've installed Solus to an old SSD plugged in with usb and it works just fine. Only problem (as it often happens with usb devices) so far is that the headset won't work on Windows if i had been previously working on Solus. Think i have to remember to do a shutdown, unplug it and then boot. For now, i'm okay. |

In case someone falls into the same predicament as i did:
Following the instructions here: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/repair...rd-mbr-windows A user at MXLinux forums posted: So I downloaded the last windows iso and put it in a usbkey, then boot up the iso Follow the instructions for a new installation, Choose your language and click Next, Click Repair Your Computer, Select Command Prompt, and type bootrec.exe/fixMbr (or bootrec /fixMBR) |
