Default BIOS/CSM/legacy-mode vs. EFI/UEFI-mode boot conflicts

I'm having difficulties booting newer Ubuntu type distros. I've been looking at various forums with no solutions. As the title of this thread states, I believe it may be the nut of my problem. I found this topic here

An Excerpt which I think applies to me says this:
Quote:
Your disk has a BIOS-mode version of GRUB in the MBR. This appears to be valid as far as the Boot Repair analysis is concerned, but this analysis only goes so far.
Your disk uses a GUID Partition Table (GPT), which means that Windows must boot in EFI mode, not in BIOS mode.
Now to be clear I'm using a 5-year-old HP Workstation computers which I added 8 more GBs RAM as well as a decent graphic card.

It goes on to suggest disabling CSM as described Here but the referenced article says things become further complex and after reading it I couldn't comprehend which solution I should use.

To make a long story short, I tried disabling CSM and I ended up screwing things up to including not being able to boot Windows 10 which also occupies the hard drive which I have 2 in my box.

I'm hoping someone has had a similar problem and a solution to go with it.
Thanks

Update
I seem to have gone 360 degrees on this issue. My trouble finding a solution was that I followed the endless trail of bread crumbs assisted by Google and the countless forums. Now combine this with my bone headed stubbornness and OCD, well never mind I think you get the picture.

He created a tutorial that was pretty much the path to success, more so than what the internet and all of its techno-Blather had to offer. For those interested, please go to his website and look for the article GRUB2 & EFI. His site also has a few articles that explain the mystifying EFI and UEFI boot menu and what they do.
