Thumbs up ChaletOS 16.04 - pretty and good!

Took another look at ChaletOS and must admit, it is a pleasing experience!

Have a few hicks though...
When receiving emails in Thunderbird, they never ended up at the thread but only at the forum (which i hope to see one day with a better url);
Dual booting with Win 10 changes the clock on the latter but did find a guide at HowtoGeek: http://www.howtogeek.com/211144/how-...ime-dual-boot/

Lastly, did manage to install Slimjet with a "hack" from ChaletOS forum tip but still fail to know how to add its icon...

"I've heard others say they're having trouble installing things too. I haven't tried the new version yet, so I don't know if this will still work, but you can try this...

1. Open your file manager and go to the folder in which you've downloaded the browsers.
2. Right-click on any empty space of the open folder, and choose the Open Terminal Here option.
3. In the terminal, enter the following command...substituting "package-name" with the EXACT name of the file that you downloaded (including special characters).

sudo dpkg -i package-name.deb "

Otherwise, a pretty nifty OS for sure!

Oh, btw, did forget to mention that it boots up faster than Windows 10 and shuts down in the blink of an eye.

Have not tried ChatletOS yet but in my experience most Linux distros boot up and shut down much faster than Windows.

I also find this to be the case although accepting the need for security software is what slows down this process in Windows.

Although most Linux distros i've tried in the last year are faster than Windows, not all of are equal!
Firefox is usually better in Linux, i do find it perkier in ChaletOS.

ChaletOS's "style changer" is just gorgeous!
Coherent in a way that Windows 10 can only dream of...

@Ivtec, i can't answer to your question but can correct what i had initially posted in their forum, namely that (after recent re-installation) i no longer have the Slimjet installation issue nor the Thunderbird one. Don't ask me why or how, it is just okay now.

Good for you ,you must be 1 in a million.
Maybe Ubuntu made this 1604 not for every machine out there but just for a few machines, otherwise it would work right from the box for everybody,I think Ubuntu it's not what use to be

Ubuntu may not, but those who know how to slim it down or to tweak it may not be stopped by their apparent (or obvious) "nonchalance".
