You are talented MC, hope and pray your vision gets better soon!

It's really surprising to see how ChaletOS managed to tweak Ubuntu based 16.04 and make it viable and beautiful as opposed to the original.

For some reason, a HP printer with network access becomes unavailable (out of order) and un-installable after being installed on... Windows 10!

Dual booting with ChaletOS has resolved the issue.
After a few tries, i was finally able to install the HP printer and actually print over wireless network!

Thumbs up ChaletOS!!

Turns out HP printer network issue reported in previous post was a virus related issue on Windows 10. Installed 360 Total Security and it solved the problem. Better than Microsoft Security Essentials i guess.

My first screenshot using ChaletOS integrated snapshot tool:

Don't know why some times i can access Windows files and other times not.
Rebooted fresh this a.m. straight into ChaletOS...
Want to have access to Windows 'cause i don't want to install another Dropbox.

.
Are you using Windows 8 or 10? If so, disable the fast startup feature.

It's to do with how Windows saves some metadata about mounted partitions on shutdown which is great for Microsoft but not so for dual booted Linux systems. Disabling the fast startup feature should force Windows to leave this data in a form Chalet OS can read effectively.

It did the trick MC.

Won't change much for Windows 10 which is surprisingly slow at startup or shutdown compared to ChaletOS.

On SSD.

As per my previous post I am no longer able to spend hours staring at this stuff but I have got to grips with it in bits over the last week. What can I say? Undoubtedly the best distro I have used to date. No doubt our friend Dedoimedo will take a look and complain because his Samba does Rumba instead but considering his dislike of yet another 16.04 variant here as in "2/10. My weekend has been ruined again, thank you. Don't bother. Bye", how can he possibly give less than 8/10 for this?

Considering the short time frame it took to bring ChaletOS to where it's at, the features and stability (16.04 icky base to work with) there's really no doubt in my mind that this distro should have already surpassed Manjaro in the top 10 Distrowatch.
